Not to be confused with a previous, excellent Chrono Cross mix by the same title, this EDM/chiptune jam by Gario (Greg Nourse) off of Jet Force Gemini: Mizar Attacks! throws in some fun key modulations & chiptune-style grace notes for an intense, suspenseful ride:
"Not at all familiar with Jet Force Gemini, not having grown up with it or heard it's soundtrack, but Dark Flame Wolf invited me to participate in her album and showed me this bangin' source so I couldn't say no. It offered me a chance to put some hours into the newest version of Reason (at the time, anyway - this was on Reason 10), and it resulted in quite the thumpin' arrangement, to boot. The orchestral marching beats really translate well to a pulsing bassline, and it was really fun figuring out how to take something that's more textural than melodic and create recognizable themes and melodies with it. It's got that typical chippy goodness for flavor that I'm sure folk have come to expect, so check this (and the rest of the album) out!"
Highlights include a little bass breakdown at 1'21" with an alternate synth, drum cutout at 3'05" for a higher-octave chip interlude, and then the unexpected chord modulation that follows; in general, Greg does a good job keeping you guessing. The core components stay mostly the same and thus risk fatigue, but there are changeups, transitions, dropouts, breakdowns, & compositional tweaks that escalate the pulse and keep things engaging throughout. No comments from album director or Liontamer, who evaluated the mix, but take it from me: it's Gario, it's great, & it's another infectious, outer-space adventure off Mizar Attacks!

Blippity bloopity, this remix has groovity. This is actually really cool, I really enjoyed the chiptune leads on this mixed with the more "modern" production and musical bits doing work in the background.
