Following up on their previous Zelda series medley, RebeccaETripp, Gamer of the Winds, Medllix, and Steven Higbee return to rollick through the forests of Hyrule! Just take a gander at how many games are involved:

In lesser hands, big medleys can have rough or jumpy transitions and feel underdeveloped (what we judges like to call "medleyitis"), but with Tripp at the helm, everything ripples like a stream in the forest. Rebecca's not wrong that this feels like a musical present wrapped in a bow for us VGM fans:

"This Legend of Zelda forest medley is my gift to you all! [...] It contains most of the forest and woods themes from the LoZ series. [...] Here's the whole medley:

I had the help of three amazing performers in this arrangement, including Gamer of the Winds on flute and piccolo, Medllix on oboe, and Steven Higbee on ocarina. I highly recommend checking out their channels, as they've all produced many beautiful tracks! [...]

This was such a complete joy to work on. ^_^ I'm so happy I finally got to bring this idea into the world! I've had dreams of composing this medley forever!"

Medllix herself was ecstatic to be a part of the forest festivities:

"What a masterful arrangement that weaves together so many of my favorite themes. :-) <3 I just want to live in the forest, listening to this 24-7! Thank you, Rebecca, for letting me play for it. <3"

Like Medllix, you'll wanna be a permanent denizen of the forest too after listening to this. Who knows what Scandanavian country you'll pack up and move to! I wonder where judge Chimpazilla would move to? Let's guess based on her compliments:

"I am enjoying the sweet forest atmosphere and birds. This is a lovely romp through Hyrule forest and I recognize every source, they all fit perfectly with this theme. The instrumentation is well-varied, whimsical and lighthearted."

That sounds like, Mattias's spot... Sweden?! Wait, maybe Finland, where Jordi lives! All the one-with-nature/pack-your-bags kidding aside, the medley structure flows incredibly well, and I always dig Rebecca's new age, intimate, and organic style. Even when recruiting and collaborating with live performers, Tripp always leaves her telltale mark on things, a testament to her sound palette and creative vision. Let the birds loose, let the rainstick flow! :-)

The part from 2:07 to 2:26 made me very happy for some reason. This medley is a frolic and a frickle and was pleasant to listen to.
