The 100-ReMix milestone's just within reach! RebeccaETripp flies over with her latest suite of Zelda themes joined by wind specialists Gamer of the Winds, Medllix, and Steven Higbee! As she explains, Rebecca's latest trip(p) took her and her collaborators skyward:

"It's been two years since I've created a substantial medley like this, due to severe health conditions, which is why I'm ecstatic to be able to share this piece. It takes a couple of months to make one of these, for sure! This is my Legend of Zelda sky themes medley, featuring air, sky, wind, or just "high up" themes from several games in the series. It's a companion piece to my forest and water Zelda medleys in the same style (if you like this one, I recommend checking them out!). I am very happy with it! ^_^ If my health improves further, next year will bring the fire medley!

Once again, this arrangement features three of my favourite performers, Gamer of the Winds on alto flute, concert flute, and piccolo, Medllix on concert flute, oboe, and English horn, and Steven Higbee on ocarina, clarinet, and bass clarinet. Thanks again!"

Once again, Tripp has spliced up her broader mega-medley into multiple parts for OCR, with this first section's lineup of source tunes taking us up:

Judge prophetik music admired the windswept views as Tripp and her companion players criss-crossed a multitude of themes and scenes:

"opens with a cameo of ballad of gales in the choir and sfx, and then jumps right into WW's title track. the taiko pattern is pretty recognizable, and the initial live elements are fantastic. [...] the intro to sheikah tower is fairly delicate. i really like the low flute work. the intentionally blocky representation right after that is also a clever adaptation of the stutter synth in the original. the TotK wind temple theme is woven in here nicely as well. very delicate playing again. the transition into the WW wind temple is just so not what i expected at all. the original's quite weird so this was an interesting idea. i wouldn't have minded a more fleshed-out background here than just the choir initially, but i like the bigger variety you give it as we get into the 5:15 area.

the breadth of the arrangement continues to expand as we get into palace of winds, and the scope increases as well. i liked the bass clarinet in here especially, one of my favorite instruments. [...] really nice transitions between most of the themes, and the adaptation with live instruments is really nice."

"Really nice" may seem trite, yet prophetik's earnestly on the nose when it comes to the accomplished combination of sequenced instrumentation and live performances. With most of the ensemble's segments carefully stitched together for an immersive end result, fellow judge Chimpazilla also had her Zelda-loving itches scratched:

"I love all of these Zelda tunes and they are handled so delicately and intricately here. The transitions between the sections are very smooth. All the instrumental performances are gorgeous and competent. This arrangement has a lovely whimsical feel. [...] this is a beautiful romp through the wind and sky themes."

After taking flight here, Tripp & team's dream will continue in due time with the second part of their fanciful Zelda sky medley. Keep your eyes to the skies...
