Where to begin. I've wanted to make this for so long, and regardless of the final product, these last couple days have been so much fun making it. I've learned a bit about vocals, SONAR (the app), and my new Yamaha Motif. It was a struggle all the way. I actually had a ReMix of this at 70% when I lost power a couple months back, and the whole thing was GONE . . . A girl I liked, before she hooked up with one of my soon-to-be-ex-friends, said something to me once that I've not forgotten: whatever you do in the future, don't sing. Probably why I keep trying :)

0:28 piano sounds great and I'm digging that snare hit
0:54 vocals work well and sound pretty good
3:40 once again, nice piano work for the outro

I wish the percussion hit harder, and a little EQ changes, but damn, this was 2001, which is like, 5 years before I even considered remixing music, so maybe I should just shut it. ;-)
Pretty decent singing as well, and I liked the extended piano passage at the end.

The song sounds downright irrestistable to sing. There's a very cool twisting vocal melody that sounds very fun to master, and that sense of fun comes through in the vocal. Quality-wise, the instrumental portions of the mix were much stronger than the vocal, but that's not to say the mix would benefit with their removal. The singing, even with the various flaws, is fundamental. Besides, with today's society focusing so much on the quest for perfection, it's refreshing to recieve a reminder that perfection is a myth, average-to-good voices can work just as well as trained voices, and that there is no shame in digtal alteration if quality is the primary incentive.
I believe this mix encapsulates all of this; and how could it not, it's djpretzel. Any mistakes he makes, he makes on purpose. He's just that good.

thanks tons, man. just to clarify, that was awhile ago, and my current girlfriend of over a year probably thinks I can sing ten times BETTER than I actually can

Im not going to lie or suck up and say that hes great at singing, hes ok or good at best, however he has a great ability to turn that into a strength by again transforming this song into something else, an uptempo catchy song that you can listen to as a guilty pleasure. I do get a lot of enjoyment out of this song.
If you are going to remix a song I think its better to make it your own rather than just karaoke a close rearrangement of it and thats what Pretzel has done here, he made it his own with great success.

I love this remix, it is in my opinion better than the original! I was wondering if anybody knows of similar electronica remixes that I could get my hands on :)

You f*cking rock.
OC Remix is a great site with all sorts of great music from all sorts of great remixers. Among all them, I have a top three: (in no particular order) McVaffe, Star Salzman, and djpretzel.
You're usually pretty modest in your writeups, which is good. But, for the credit you might not have given yourself, you have all of us drooling a**kissing fans to make up for it.
This remix is cool. Bouncy sounding, awesome 80'sesque synthesizer riffs, and of course, your vocals. The vocals are great. Any of your remixes where you sing are subsequently great. And even non-OCremixes where you sing are great, like the "Naruto: Falling Down" one that I fond on animeremix.org. In that song, you did these neat thingies where you were singing in harmony with yourself at the refrains. Like..you sang all the parts (melody, harmony, beat-boxing, etc.) and then used your magical music remixing machine to play it back at the same time. Cool stuff, even if Naruto and I aren't on speaking terms (f*cking fillers...if they ever end and the story gets back on track, it'll be worth watching again).
But this remix, yes, very very good. 10/10.
