WEEKEND MIXPOST!
It's been more than two years since our last featured ReMix from ANY Metal Gear game, and SIX years since the original Metal Gear for NES was the focus, so it's awesome to see YoshiBlade do Kazuki Muraoka's OST some great justice with this infectious, effect & FX-laden chiptuney EDM joint off of Candy Corn II: The Sequeling. The incorporation of chiptune alarms, bitcrushed/radio-static game dialogue, four-on-the-floor beats coupled with undulating synths makes for a great combo, and I especially liked the sustained 2'53" "Snaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkee!!" beat drop/transition - it gets two "Khaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!"'s up from me. Chiptune components pop up here & there, and there are a bunch of retro sound FX that elevate the presentation and keep the whole thing engaging. Even with all the bells & whistles, it still stays dark, thanks to the minor-key melody and unrelenting downbeat. An excellent example of the tasteful & musical incorporation of FX & dialogue into an EDM structure, an energized & dark voyage into TACTICAL ESPIONAGE, & a hyper-alliterative mix title make for one of the best tracks on CC2. Highly recommended; props to YB for bringing Snake back to the OCR homepage, with style!

I'm loving this one even though i didn't have the chance to play the game back in the day. It's really fun to listen to.

Don't worry YoshiBlade, I really enjoyed the album and thought this song was probably the highlight of it. I especially like the tasty use of Metal Gear Solid samples throughout. Glad this made the front page and hope you have a nice day.

I always try and write a good story, hopefully good music too, and so far I feel like this might be the most plot driven ( if that's possible for a song) one Ive made yet and my only hope is no one feel asleep while listening.
