  1. While on the trip, I'm bringing my sketchbook and will practice drawing most of Kirby's copy abilities. I call dibs on Yoyo, Plasma, and Cutter art for the project. :P

If thats how its gonna be for the artists, I'll take Ninja and Sword for now (I don't want to take all the good ones now).

Now that I think about it... depending on the amount of artists we get, I think we should have each artist do 2-3 abilities and a boss and/or planet. I'll probably pick my last ability after some other artists have chosen theirs, and I've already illustrated the Computer Virus Boss.

    So far we have:

KWarp: Abilities: Yoyo, Plasma, Cutter. Bosses/Planets: ---.

CarefreeCaptain: Abilities: Sword, Ninja. Bosses/Planets: Computer Virus.

Oltri: Abilities: Mirror, Fighter. Bosses/Planets: ---.

  2. How many of the artists for this project know how to make animated gifs? I was thinking that maybe, if you'd be willing to put forth a little more effort, we could maybe use 2-3 frame animated gifs for each picture. KWarp, will animated gifs work with that flash storybook engine you have going?

Uhm... if anyone has seen the anime Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~ you'll see what I'm trying to get at. And if you're willing to stand the wait you could try torrenting it off animesuki. (WARNING: its a cutesie cutsie anime)

  3. I think the idea of having the boss music remixed by each remixer is a great idea, as long as the remixers are up to it.

Well, its not my area but... I think it'd be cool if the boss music for each world sorta thematically ties into the music for the world.

Also! Artists, I found a pretty good resource for Kirby Superstar character references here:

    http://sprites.fireball20xl.com/NSA/HTML/Kirby/star.htm

Also, KWarp, do you want the artists to draw Kirby in his normal form in the pictures or do you want us to just pick abilities that seem suited to the situation?

  4. Hmph... now I have to learn Photoshop of theGimp. Flash can't make crayony graphics.

... how do you make crayony graphics? 8O

    Well, I have two ideas...

    1) Draw and color it with crayons and scan it :P

    2) Use a brush in your CG program that gives a sort of crayon-ish look to your picture.

And I'm sure people who use illustrator have even better tools ^-^.

  5. Hello there all, I'm a friend of Arek. I've pretty much joined the OCRemix forums for the sole purpose of helping with this project, I will be a co-art coordinator for this project along with KWarp.

Now, that the introduction is done with...

The direction that we're currently looking to go with for the art, since this is going to end up being a sort of children's story book type thing, is sort of a crayon-ish Kirby Dreamland 3 look with little white paper cut-out backgrounds around the characters sort of like this:

    Mahoraba_ep3.jpg

KWarp and I agree that this will give this project sort of a uniqueness to the art. I'll post a tutorial on how to create this effect in photoshop in a day or so. And if needs be, I can do the effect for other people.
