  1. Yeah, sorry about my lack or participation this compo. Been super busy with squirrels and life hitting kind of hard and because of that, all of my time has been devoted to other projects that had to take priority. About my entry though, it's not as inventive as I would have liked but I got the sound I wanted and it reminded me of Mighty Switch Force a bit so I ran with it. There IS one part that isn't just flip-flop between sources. The breakdown section has most of the important melodic lines from both sources (that would fit the chords) at some point in it. Also like I said, I got a little lazy close to the end and just wanted to wrap it up so I could move on to other previously mentioned projects. Some of it was copy/pasted with the intention of going back and changing some things up but I never got around to it.

REGARDLESS, I think it sounds REALLY cool and I did have fun making it. I'm typing this out on my phone so I can't really listen to the other entries but when I get a chance to sit down and listen, I'll post feedback for each of you.

  2. I have a "sleepytime" playlist of tracks I listen to when I'm going to sleep sometimes. Here are some of the game tracks I have in it. Keep in mind, not everyone will agree that these are "relaxing" (especially some of the SimCity 3000 ones) but I fined them relaxing.

    EDIT: Oh, and Animal Crossing.

  3. I think the balance is an issue here. The drums overpower everything else by quite a bit. The kick and snare don't have to be so prominent to be effective.

Like Hak said, it's really close to the original. It's basically the same song with different instruments, which is okay. You did a good job of it but again, like Hak said, if you plan to submit this to OCR, you'll probably want to do a bit more with it arangementally.

  4. If I had to guess, I would say your ASIO device is the default sound device, and firefox is grabbing it at start up for some reason. Some apps will let you share the ASIO driver for playback, while others require exclusive control. Good ones let you choose whether it is exclusive.

I use the onboard sound as the default and run it to a mixer with my audio interface. All audio apps use this, default win crap uses the onboard, and everything is happy.

This is my guess. I use ASIO4All v2 as well and I have the same problem. When FL isn't running, everything works fine. But if something uses the soundcard (something makes a sound) before I open FL, FL will be silent and I'll have to close whatever program made the sound and restart FL. Likewise, while FL is using the soundcard, everything else is mute until I close FL and restart the browser (or whatever else). It's frustrating and I've tried to find a workaround so many times but it seems like it has something to do with the soundcard's capability or something. I don't remember what it was I found out but from what I could tell, it just isn't possible to run ASIO through both at once.

EDIT: I seem to remember something about sample rate but I don't think I ever figured it out.

  5. Oops, I ain't gonna have no wip for June 1st, that's far too soon, but I did express my concept for the song to ToN when I claimed it.

    Session Start: Mon Mar 04 18:06:28 2013

    Session Ident: Brandon

    [22:23] <ToN> Hey dude

[22:23] <ToN> So for this SMRPG project thing

[22:23] <ToN> June 1 is the first deadline

[22:23] <ToN> for any kind of wip

    [22:26] <Brandon> hmm seems legit

I also told you well in advance when the deadline was just like everyone else. It's not my fault you procrastinated. Get me something by the deadline or it's re-opened.

  6. Yeah, so I'm at mom's house on her computer (still no access to my computer and beatz). Figured I'd fill you guys in.

We've had visitors living in our attic for a while but they never really bothered us aside from some occasional chattering or maybe some nuts hitting the floor (ceiling) so we kind of just let them be.

I came home one day and some of my ceiling tiles were on the floor instead of the ceiling, leaving gaping holes in my ceiling. I thought, "well, this isn't right. Ceiling tiles are supposed to be in the ceiling, not the floor." As I dialed my landlord, I heard scratching and chattering coming from under my bed.

I left immediately and have been living somewhere else since then. I told the landlord about the squirrel monster under my bed and that I'd be living out of town until it was taken care of. She said she'd get someone on it but it's been about two weeks now and all I've heard is that they confirmed it was squirrels :|
