Thanks! I sent you a PM here, wondered why I didn't get it back =P the project is called FSMR (First super Metroid Remake), it is almost as famous as DoctorM64's AM2R. right now it looks dead, but it isn't... the third demo should be coming out the following month once I finish Ridley sprites. @Zephyr~: err... yeah, sorry =P I was kinda asleep when I was typing it. plucked channel? I'll go check it (as I have not really heard of it). I am not exactly sure how to use a FM synth (DX10)... so uhh... I think Darren actually might have something helpful. thanks anyhoo! it may come helpful in the future. @Darren1986: I uhh... didn't try to put your name in the search engine (obviously) yeah... I said "your", awesome to meet you! I'll change it as soon as I am done typing. I got it off the Metroid Database, I was trying to find some inspirational metroid-themed song. I saw yours, downloaded it... it was awesome, I can't get it out of my head. hmm... they are all pretty cool, the orchestrated brinstar... the M2:RoS theme, I really liked how they are turning out. this is sorta off-topic... but I am kinda sad seeing the lack of metroid fusion remixes =( about the sound font... could you not make it "exact?" It feels like I would be stealing someone else's sound, and this is going into a remake of super metroid... it just wouldn't feel right ya know? of course... I will still give credit, because any help from anyone I always give cred =)

hey all, kenji here. I was just wondering... is it possible to get something like that-...... how to explain it... harp sound on fruity loops studios? the harp that sounds like the one playing in red brinstar from super metroid? I cannot seem to find a tune that could work for it. even though... I am sorta new at FL studios... but it isn't like I don't know how to use it. anyhoo I have almost all the right tunes... sorta except for that one, and it has been bugging me for a while. I am pretty sure it is going to be so obvious that it isn't even funny (that's my luck...) if you have not heard red brinstar... here was an excellent remix that darren kerwin made, I was trying to actually get the harp-sound closer to this... so it isn't an exact replica of super metroid but still not an exact replica of what darren worked hard on (probably), after all I am remaking the song: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/115372 all I need to know is how to get a tune that sounds... fairly close, I know how to do the rest... any help? (I am probably such an idiot...)

made the suit, along with some other things in an older video such as crystal flash, the subscreen design, some of the bosses (like draygon) enemies, etc... the other stuff is all scattered in the FSMR thread... I'm 14. @yoozer well I wanted to use the mario thing to see what I can do first... then use anvil studios. I think my maridia 2 sounds good, so I'll try it out in anvil studios.

EDIT: before I get started with anvil studios, I found out about some Mario paint composer thing, and I think its a good idea to start with that and see what I can do. I already have a wip maridia 2 (the rocky area) that sounds decent, even though it sounds a little odd here and there... umm is there a way to upload this song here so anyone can rate it? I don't know how to upload music.....

I see.... oh, and I'ts kinda an old video, because our programmer has not updated it yet. the game is still in it's early stages, but that doesn't mean we don't have the backgrounds, tiles, enemies, etc... now this is kinda commercial product... If anyone would like to see the development n stuff, then visit metroid fan mission. but you've got to admit... It still works, right? because it's so glitchy, that is why there are no real levels at the moment... volunteers eh? hmm... this is going to be harder than I thought... oh, now I get it. I should've found out more about this place before I joined =P (please don't mind me.) hmm... let's start over... It can get Illegal!? the only thing I would think of if it was something bad... and I probably might just "hire" someone... I don't think I'm up to the job. nope, I've seen how annoying people can get with commercial products..... now back on topic, I had a feeling about that... about hiring someone that is. well, what I need is basically all the music from super metroid. but I think that might be a little much to ask for...

I am kinda new here... so I don't know where to start... well... my name is kenji imatake (just call me kenji for short) and I have joined just cuz I am a spriter / pixel artist, and a good one at that, so anyways I came across a super metroid remake (FSMR) and decided to help out. Turns out I became the official spriter. so anyways, what makes a metroid game so unique? It's music. We are very far in development of the game, but we don't have any music(I think we have sound effects though). I liked the music here, and wanted to learn how to make awesome music for this game. If I need proof of the game, here is an example of how the game looks: btw, I have anvil studios... if there is a better music...maker then could anyone please tell me =P
