  1. Hi everyone. Some time ago, I was working on remixing the Street Fighter II Music Series. It happens that I felt that I had to work on them again, so I made Chiptune (Fakebit) versions of my previous remixes. I like them much more this way. Here you have the Street Fighter II Playlist: Notes: - One character is still missing: Akuma. I really need to finish it soon. - Guile's and T. Hawk's theme are no remixes, are arrangements or simply chiptune versions (I never thought I was going to work the entire selection of characters or even make a remix of any of them). - All the themes sound like they are arrangements instead of remixes, but when you get to listen to them you'll see there's some original composition added (chord progressions, scales, harmonies and more). I call them remixes, but I think they're more like my versions of the Street Fighter II Music. Read ya
  2. Long time I don't post here (since my Street Fighter II Remixes) This time I've been working on this Original Chiptunes Project called Chipxel8. This is a Chiptunes (ChipMusic) based project with video games music style. Chipxel8 is based on the Story of Chipxel a former Captain of The Dark Falcon Fleet from Luastrad (A planet from Xers Galaxy). The project has a full background story, and each song is released with parts of this story. I wanted to share this with you guys, so you can tell me what you think The Project is hosted on YouTube and SoundCloud: http://www.youtube.com/user/RickStrifeChannel https://soundcloud.com/rickstrife-chips Read ya
  3. Nice track! Nice guitar execution. I'm talking about the guitar because seems to be the defining element of your remix. I need to listen to this with my earphones tho (I'm not at home atm) so I can tell about the rest of the instruments, but, this guys know more than I do about mixing, so they will tell you better. My word is that I liked it BTW guys. You have to click on the download link and then click like on this picture. (I have downloaded it with no problems at all)
  4. katon99 Thank you very much! I felt this song very much, maybe the chord progression is just sweet! The original song is very catchy as it is, I just injected some roids on it xD. Thanks again! EDIT: Lidawg I got your reply while I was replying the previous. Thank you! I know what you mean about playing a little bit more with the song at some other points like the intro for example, kind of the OCR lines, I'm triying to follow them a bit more everytime. T. Hawk is the next to finish my project, I'll see what I can do about him , I was thinking deeply about it, because his track is a bit more to the heart and culture rich. I'll let you guys now when it's finished! Read ya!
  5. Hi! I liked it . The idea sounds great! I'm new here and relatively new to mixing. So my opinion is more from a musician than a digital music producer. I love Street Fighter in every aspect, so, I felt the need to reply to your entry. On the remix: Loved the transitions, nice Intro! I found the audio quality very clear so I was able to hear every instrument in detail. That leads me to my only concern regarding the electric guitar (overdrive) you used. I'm a guitar player and I want to bet you used a sampled electric guitar.I know It's a bit tricky to make it sound "real" specially when is a lead guitar solo/phrase and depends on how well you can tweak it to get the feeling. My humble advice is to try to use some not so "real" electric guitar samples or just study you virtual guitar options, in hopes that it will make it feel more blended to the electronic ambient you have there. Overall, your remix sounds nicely built. Keep up the good work!
  6. Fei Long Remix from the SNES version of Super Street Fighter II I had so much fun re-mixing this one. I mostly added some new harmonies over the original music, and a fair amount of new composition following the melody of this song. SoundCloud Link: https://soundcloud.com/rickstrife-depot/super-street-fighter-ii-fei Hope you guys like it.
  7. Thank you Guifrog I'm glad you liked it, and to have a similar tendency about adding some brand new lines makes me feel more confortable. I appreciate very much the advices, specially about panning the main instruments. I found myself panning a lot since the last time someone told me that I wasn't panning correctly... This time I kind of over/miss used it. I think I'm gettin' the hang of it. Another thing I need to solve is that everything sounds nice on my headphones, but when I go to speakers I get a slap in the face, so I need to rework the bass frequencies. I need to change my headphones ASAP. Not aiming for OC just yet, even if I consider my current work as finished, I'm very aware that I need to improve a lot. I'm working on it! Thank you again.
  8. Thanks for taking your time to listen to the song! Yeah, I'm really new to mixing. I've always been a musician, but never had the chance to mix by myself, but now that we have this tools (software) in our hands, I thought I should take advantage of them. I'm reading yeah! All what I've read so far it's been very useful, and I need to learn the tricks and stablish an efficient workflow, polish my ears xD and find better speakers, since my headphones seem to be more like for dj's (too much bass). Thank you again for your feedback! I'll keep working on it
  9. Hi fellows! This is my firts post in here. I'm Rick from Venezuela and I started to work on video games remixes not long ago, and thought about practicing some arrangement and mixing while having fun and bringing back some memories. One day I thought about remixing Guile's stage theme song... then I was finishing all the Street Fighter II themes. Well, now I''m working on the another four guys from Super Street Fighter II turbo. I have just finished Cammy's. I'll leave you the youtube link, so you can tell me what you guys think. (I bet there's a thousand sf2 remixes around, but I just love this game xD) Ohh! and... all my remixes are more like arrangements or hybrids I guess, because I like the original music so much that I just let roll the original "remixed" music and then at some point you get surprises (completely new compositions), you just need to listen at them. Thanks! Read ya! Cammy Stage Theme Remix: https://soundcloud.com/rickstrife-depot/super-street-fighter-ii-cammy
