  1. Quite excited for the online gameplay revamp. It should allow players to find battles to suit their needs.

Smash Run mode exclusively for 3DS looks promising too. The throwback to Kirby Air Ride's "city trial" gameplay is welcomed. Glad to see that nintendo won't be throwing the 3DS version under the bus as inferior to the Wii U version.

    Greninja and Charizard hype

Now to wait for the Captain Falcon and Wario reveal. I need to pawwnch more people.

  2. I'm doing research on how video games have affected our society for a college paper. As such, I've created a survey to collect some data. If you would consider yourself as someone who enjoys video games (which I'm assuming most of you do since this site is based around game music), I would appreciate if you could complete this. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. All information will remain confidential and the final paper will not be used for monetary profit. Thank you in advance.

    The survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6F6M5TV

Feel free to also discuss how you feel video games have affected our society in this thread. Do they enhance your social interaction, or take away from it? Is "video game addiction" something we should be concerned about, or is it something that people have been over reacting toward? Should we be concerned with possible negative effects of games (such as encouraging violent behavior)?

  3. Just got the game in the mail and I'm loving it. Working on upgrading my house right now. Has anyone else found a perfect fruit growing on one of their trees? I found a perfect pear today and I'm curious what's special about it.

    Also, here's my town details:

Name: Andrew, town: Corneria, fruit: pears

  4. When I discovered the Harmony of a Hunter album a few years ago. Going into it, I knew that I would like some of the tracks, but wasn't sure what to expect about it as a whole. I downloaded all of it and just started to listen. I was swept of my feet by the talent. But none of the pieces blew me a way more-so than Sam Dillard's "Into the Green World" though. The composition is so rich and flavorful; so thoughtfully melded together and genuine. I almost don't have words to describe it.

I never grew up with Super Metroid and have never played it, honestly. But Sam Dillard's composition of the Brinstar Overgrowth Area theme makes me want to play the game; makes me NEED to play the game and to experience the story and soundtrack for myself. All I can say is thank you to Mr. Dillard for creating this outstanding composition. I hope to hear more from him in the future.

  5. Oh, you're one of those people. :roll:I kid of course, the music is pretty good. =P

I was about to go on a rant until I saw the white text

This is the one only thing that is both Sonic and something I am avoiding like the plague. I've almost given in several times and bought the game then I remembered that just playing the demo on XBL was bad enough of an experience. What I have heard from the soundtrack I like but my connection to it has been very limited.

I'm lucky enough to have a friend who purchased the game so that I don't have to as well. Whenever we need a good laugh/challenge, we boot up the game and rip on it as much as we can.

As far as Sonic's modern soundtracks I'd have to go with Sonic Unleashed as my favorite.

Unleashed does have a great soundtrack as well. Big fan of rooftop run day and dragon road night's themes myself.

  6. Sonic Adventure 2 gets a lot of hate? The only reason I've heard for hating that game is it somehow made the fanbase awful? Sonic Adventure 2 is personally one of my favorite games of any of the Sonic games, and yes, its soundtrack is beast.

While the fanbase is probably part of it, I think Sonic Adventure 2 is something you had to grow up with as a kid. I have a friend who purchased SA2 Battle later in life and he isn't as fond of it as I am. Sonic Adventure 2 is one of my favorite sonic games as well, personally.

Sonic never has a bad OST.

I wouldn't say never (I wasn't as big a fan of Sonic Rush's OST), but Sonic's games in general do have great soundtracks.

Listening to Mephiles Phase 2 (

). Love how dark it is and how it sets the mood for the battle.
  7. I've been listening to the Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 soundtrack a lot lately, and I must say, I am quite enjoying it. (Don't hit that reply button to call me a blasphemous wanker just yet. Hear me out)

The tracks have a lot of depth and flavor in them that makes them enjoyable to listen. I wouldn't go as far to say "I'm surprised there aren't any sonic '06 remixes on this site", but still, I'm quite impressed with the soundtrack. Perhaps, if the rest of game was given the same amount of attention that the music was, Sonic '06 would've been half-way decent. Here's some of my favorites from the soundtrack so far, in case you haven't heard the soundtrack or need a refresher:

    Crisis City:

    Kingdom Valley:

    Flame Core (Cavern):

    Flame Core (Volcano):

    Aquatic Base (Level 1):

Does anyone else think the soundtrack in Sonic '06 is enjoyable and impressive like I do? Should I be exiled from society for liking any part of Sonic '06 at all? What are you thoughts?

  8. Hello everyone! My name's Andrew Favor (Favor on these forums). I've been lurking around on here for a few years and been downloading remixes from the site for quite a while, but I've never actually gotten involved in the forums or posted anything.

I'm very much a lover of video game soundtracks (I have my itunes library full of selections from different games). Some of my favorite soundtracks come from the pokemon, metroid, and kirby series.

Recently, I've been inspired to try my hand at remixing some of my favorite tracks, but I have no experience with composing and producing music on my computer. If anyone has any advice for what programs to use, tutorials, ect., please speak up. I am looking to remix this source

, among a few others. I do have some musical experience, as I was in a concert band class during my 7th-12th grade years of school (I'm able to play the clarinet somewhat well).

tl;dr, Hi, I'm looking to start remixing and have no idea where to begin. Halp!

Anyways, I'm glad to be here and I hope to become part of this community :)!!
