  1. Hello again! Here's a showcase of some of our current progress on the music pack so far!

The music pack event will still be live for a few months, so now is still a good time to join in on the collaboration and get your ideas included, whether they're your own themes, or requests for something specific! The event details can be found over here: https://rpgmaker.net/events/rmn_music_pack_2/ !

Greetings to all fans of video game music, composers and game developers! We have started a VGM collaboration called RMN Music Pack 2 over at rpgmaker.net, our goal being to create an extensive album of video game music for everyone to listen to and to use in their game projects and other media for free.

RMN Music Pack 2 will be a continuation to its predecessor, the first RMN Music Pack, and this time we're looking to produce a sequel that not only follows a similar concept, but also raises the bar - as all great sequels should. RMN Music Pack project is run within a community that revolves mainly around creating RPGs, so the music of the album is primarily intended to fit this game genre as well. Some songs may be usable in wider variety of instances, but a lot of the music of our album is still intended to be melodic, loop-able themes, fitting for JRPG type of games.

If you're either a composer or a consumer of this type of music, you should definitely check out our event page over here for further details. There are some participation rewards involved, but our main intent is to collaborate to create a solid album of melodic video game music for everyone to enjoy and use for free. Our first album has enjoyed some success, garnering over 20,000 downloads, and it has been utilized in numerous projects of hobbyist, or aspiring game developers.

RMN Music Pack 2 album is aimed to be completed within a time-scope of 3 to 4 months, depending on how many entrants and submissions we get. After the event is over the album will be released for free of charge, under creative commons license. We will have some criteria and a validation for submitted entries, but our goal is to keep an open channel for communication and feedback, and collaborate and help each other out to achieve the best possible results. You can find the first RMN Music pack over here, to see reference for minimum standards, though we  also want to bring up the quality with this sequel.

If you have any questions that you didn't find an answer to on our event page, leave a message and I'll answer them here! If this sounded at all like your cup of tea then I hope to see you around in our event!

  3. Hey everyone!

The first chapter of Summoner of Sounds has finished! Over 40 pieces of original video game music was created for it, and all of it is free to use!

The first challenge may only have just ended, but the second one is already making its way in! It's time for action!

Didn't have a chance to join in the first challenge? Or perhaps it wasn't a challenge enough? Or... maybe you just want to tune in for more video game music!

Friendly greetings! Rpgmaker.net video game community presents Summoner of Sounds: A Community Journey in Video Game Music!

Summoner of Sounds is a series of interactive community events where video game music will be celebrated by the means of craftsmanship and community interaction.

Members of video game community with experience in music production will be dared to participate in challenges testing their ability to perform well as a versatile video game composer, while the game developers with other areas of expertise are encouraged to analyze the challenges, and provide the composers with commentary, feedback and constructive criticism.

The RPG Maker Network offers an extensive network of gamers and game developers, both hobbyists and professionals. RMN will bring the participants visibility, and the yields of each challenge will be shared on RMN's social media during the course of the events.

Summoner of Sounds series will be creating composers a portfolio, but it will also be creating the community a whole lot of great video game music! Everyone may also post ideas of any themes they would like to hear. If the ruleset permits, a composer may very well decide to compose your idea.

This event series is designed to help the composers of the game development community come together, challenge their know-how and showcase their creative efforts, and the rest of the community to come in contact with the composers.

Will you be able to take on the challenge? Can you become the Summoner of Sounds, or even something more?
