yo! Brand new here. I just have a question for all the other composers out there I've been learning production/composition thru a private tutor for the past year now, and I'm going to college for composition in the fall. Something I deal with whenever I'm trying to make music is that I get in my own head really easily, making it difficult to feel like what I make is good or if what I'm doing is worthwhile. Practicing is another thing that I get really self conscious about. My way of practicing is transcribing songs (not necessarily all VGM) into ableton's arrangement view and trying to recreate them verbatim through MIDI, piano roll, etc. i worry that this isn't a great way to learn composition for the future and i just need some words of encouragement so i can feel good about where im headed.
