  1. Hey all, Its been a while since ive been on these forums. Anyways, I recently started playing with DSKorg on the DS and just began messing with it. I got this idea to try and remix a song from Ninja Gaiden 2. Stage 2 - Act 2, or aka (Overdrive). I tried to keep the melody as close to the original as possible while giving the song a whole diferent beat and style. I tried to go for something fun and happy, lol. This is what I came up with. Dont tear me apart though, this is my first attempt at a remix, I have no background knowledge on mixing music, except for listening to them :)

    Original Track

I know its not done yet, but I felt like sharing it. DSKorg is a fun little game on the DS, but it has me a bit limited. Is there any software that I can use that is similar to it but with more features on the computer. I would like to recreate it and then add more effects, instruments ,and transitions to it.

    Any ideas, thx

  2. Here is another game which has great music already. The game itself even has its on orchestral renditions of its music which is awesome. However, I think these are great candidates to be remixed in other styles. Just thought id post these in case no one has every played this game yet and enjoyed its music. Maybe someone is interested in remixing some of these :)

    Level 1 - Lave

    Level 2 - Coventina

  3. Well I dont know about you, but to me, remixing is not about making a song better than the original but to reinvent in a new way. Ive always liked listening to perfectly great songs in different styles. For example, Ive heard so many different versions of Ice Cap from sonic 3. In styles such as jazz, techno, rock. I love how each style changes the source and u dont always feel like your listening to the same song.

This soundtrack is already brilliant, but I know for sure that many talented remixers can create some great stuff out of this games music.

  4. So I just recently bought this game on the ps3, I downloaded the demo and when I played it, I fell in love with the game. The music in this game is just so awesome. Especially the first level song, its just screaming to be remixed. Here give it a listen, its pure 8 bit epicness.

Any takers to be the first one to remix music to this game, especially the level 1 music. :D

  5. I know this aint as catchy as the original sonic game tunes, but I think it will grow on us over time. Im pretty sure one of the great artists here on OC can make it superb.

Im pretty anxious to hear what the rest of the game has to offer in music. Im hoping for something that will be as memorable as Sonic 3s Ice Cap Zone, which is one of my favorites.

  6. I just recently played Megaman ZX on the DS, and I noticed this song and couldnt help but think how epic it was. If anyone is up to the challenge, I would like to hear a remix of this track in a more Trancelike version or even an ambient mellow version as well. Heck, if anyone is interested in making it in any style, that would be great as well. Any takers, :D

Megaman ZX - Green Grass Gradation

by the way, I did listen to the arrange and gigamix versions, but the thing is that they sound so similar to the original. I would like to hear what kind a of remix others can come up with.

  7. Wow, that Braincells rendition of Overdrive is brilliant, can't believe ive never heard it before. The Strefig rendtition of Green Planet is just as sweet, definately one to keep. Also, the Chromolode album is sweet as well, I remember hearing some of those tracks a while back, totally forgot about them. Great stuff.

  8. Ive always wanted to hear remixes to some of these songs, Which I think are great, some of which I havent heard remixes for yet. I tried my hand at remixing some of these but I just dont have the talent to do so. I just enjoy listening to other peoples work. Dont matter what style its in, as long as it sounds great. Anyways, here are few id like to see remixed, if anyone is interested.

I know I know, im sort of an Ending credits music nut, which is why I love the ending music to streets of rage 2, Greatest ending song of all time IMO. Although Ive already heard remixes for it. If anyone can remix any of these, I will worship the ground you walk on hehehe

  9. You really are taking the mp3 being posted seriously. Like I said, I did it so people can get a small preview of it so they can decide if they want to remix it. It doesnt mean they are gonna make a remix using the mp3 itself. Youre making it sound as if remixers are too lazy to download the midi or the nsf track version of it which both have channels seperated that makes remixing easier.

Of course I know remixers arent dumb enough to use this mp3 to make a remix out of it. Why, because Ive had my own experiences trying to remix songs. But I gave it up because I dont have the talent to make great remixes as most Djs here have. Thats why I prefered to request this song here. Its just a really cool song that I would like to hear a remix out of. I can try to make a remix out of it, but it would just sound like crap. I prefer someone with more experience and has a knack for making great music to remix it. That is all, hehe

Ooohhh, and it does have that Konami sound to it. This song uses it really well.

  10. This song rocks. But what's with people making mp3's out of NES soundtracks when there's NSF's?

HaHaHa, the funny thing is that I made an mp3 of this song using an NSF track, hehe. I think its easier for people to preview the song this way so they dont have to download the nsf tracks or the nsf player.

  11. Hello, I just wanted to say that ive been a big follower of this site since it began many years ago. Ive downloaded so many remixes from here that I have over 25 cds of game remixes.

But anyways, ive got a request to make. Its from the NES Konami game Bucky O Hare. Ive always wondered why there has never been a remix of this song, considering its a really catchy tune, imo anyways. I dont care if its remixed in trance, techno, jazz, rock, or whatever. Just as long as it sounds good and keeps its upbeat rhythm, hehehe.

Heres a link to the song in case anyone is interested in making a remix for this song. Maybe u will like it.
