JFliegler
Hi there OCR members. I am asking for some feedback for a track that I have been working on for the past few months. The track is rooted in the Symphonic Black Metal genre but also has some elements from movie soundtracks and Older Video game music. It's just my attempt to get somewhat of an original sound from separate styles I love. Anyway, the song is entitled Shadowlore. I made it using the following programs and VST's Cubase SX3 EzDrummer DFH Edirol Orchastral Tabit The guitars were recorded using a microphone to my amp. There are a few things I have already noticed that are hurting the song a little bit but have no ideas as how to solve them. One of them is the drums on :49 - 1:01 are a bit muddy since this drum machine doesn't like to cooperate with me when it comes to blast beats. Does anyone have any suggestions how to solve this dilemma? If not, all feedback on this song is greatly appreciated! Meteo Xavier
It could just be the drums. The only major problem I'm having with this mix is the throbbing kick drum track. Start at 0:50 it sounds like the program's stuck and clipping the rhythm like crazy. The triplet heavy kick is also distracting. Other than that, my natural intuition tells me this track works for what it is, so just fix the kick drums and triplets and you could be fine.
