glasfen
The last one was a bit more interesting than usual: Veteran Gamer Opinion Poll #8 The demographics of gaming have changed since the 8-bit era. For many of us, old games can cause nostalgia, dredging up memories of velour and The A-Team. Then there is the newer generation, who are more familiar with 3D environments and in-game, licensed popular music. I think it would be interesting to know the age spread at OCR. That said, 1. I think that, overall, most gamers are: a) older than I am around the same age c) younger than I am and 2. most of the gamers I know are: a) 12 years old or younger between 13 and 18 years old c) between 19 and 24 years old d) 25 or older Here are the responses: 1. I think that, overall, most gamers are: a) older than I am - 1 vote (12.5%) >>>>>>>>>>>> around the same age - 6 votes (75%) WINNER! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> c) younger than I am - 1 vote (12.5%) >>>>>>>>>>>> and 2. most of the gamers I know are: a) 12 years old or younger - 0 votes between 13 and 18 years old - 1 vote (12.5%) >>>>>>>>>>>> c) between 19 and 24 years old - 5.5 votes (69%) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> d) 25 or older - 1.5 votes (18.5%) >>>>>>>>>>>> So these aren't really scientific results, only being 8 votes out of a possible 1,300 active users. Still, the results seem to point strongly to an older OCR and gamer community than I would have originally guessed. Thanks to all the voters! New poll early next week. Have a great Easter weekend, all. I'm outta here!
