I thought I would post up one of my tracks to show what sort of stuff I make, My mates have always told me my stuff sounds like game music, so I joined your fine community. I would like to get involved in some remix action on here but don't know where to start.

This is great! I don't know that I completely agree that it's that game music'y, but if you can ReMix game music in this kind of style it's bound to be a pretty big success!

Good luck, I'm also pretty new so I can't give you an awful lot of advice!
