Vandril
While my earlier posted Onimusha 4: DoD request was my favorite VGM soundtrack, Tales of Vesperia is easily my favorite game of recent years, as well as a close second on my personal soundtrack rankings. I played this game through TWICE when I first got it. It's music ensnared me before even the game itself did. Less than 6 months later, I played through and beat the game again and it was just as fun as the first two times. I even started a FOURTH game before I lent it to a friend. Anyway, below I'll have a rather large list of requests from this game's soundtrack. It seems like a bit much until you consider the game's OST has a whopping 115 tracks! To make this request even better, the composer for all the music is Motoi Sakuraba, the man who composed the music for the Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile games. Also, as for Genres of each remix. I'll leave that up to the remixer, because I have no preference. Anyway, thanks in advance, and please bear with me on the list. -Vandril A Formidable Foe Stands in the Way - http://www.mediafire.com/?a3wu8oyq9xxqe9y This song plays on optional bosses in the game. Not secret bosses, but optional ones available from the first time you enter most dungeons. One of the better battle themes of the game imo. Judith, A Portrait of Solitude - http://www.mediafire.com/?kr41k5mjjdmiz2o An all too underplayed theme of my second favorite character in ToV, Judith. One of the "ancients" which are basically scholarly elves who've forsaken war and live in the sky, because they've "learned their lessons" after almost destroying the world at LEAST once. Ha, but not Judith. She's a lancer, and the only of her race known to still fight. She also has not secluded herself like the rest of her race, however, she has secluded herself FROM the rest of her race and has yet to bother mingling with humans, thus the title. She still retains her ladylike manner, while being quite a vicious warrior. Not to mention she has sarcasm that matches even the main character, Yuri Lowell. Chance for a Big Reversal - http://www.mediafire.com/?rcqgv501czqu8go Most RPGs have a "it was a bad situation but it's turning around now!" theme. This is ToV's theme for those moments. Quite catchy really. Brooding Omen - http://www.mediafire.com/?8sb9i5cdbxb6pey Just as most RPGs have a song like that mentioned above, most also have one when something sinister reveals itself. Whether it be a giant weapon or the main enemy of the game. This is ToV's version of that. Source of the Seething Silence - http://www.mediafire.com/?j1gwvy69mdbyjy1 This song is empty. Really empty. And yet it feels as complete as it's meant to be. I'm adding this to my request list because I feel it's so simple and ambient, it would be difficult to remix. If you want a challenge, this one might do it for you. Encounter With the Unknown - http://www.mediafire.com/?bernmofledslx7x This is a battle theme that plays in the secret 200-man arena battle. After a certain point, some characters (usually enemies) from earlier Tales games are thrown into battle with your character and you get to fight them. Included is the end boss of the ever-loved Tales of Phantasia, first game in the series. The Saviors' Determination - http://www.mediafire.com/?2ix7e3z7tjld87i The last of a small chain of world map themes that plays throughout the game. Near the end of the game is when this one plays, when all that's left is to confront the main enemy of the game...and a potential ally who is currently working on his own agenda... Tenacity - http://www.mediafire.com/?llgdd335c3h90le If memory serves, this is the last "normal battle" theme to play in the game's main story. Like the world map theme, the battle theme changes every so often in the game, and I'm pretty sure this comes in about midway through. The Vulnerable - http://www.mediafire.com/?00zk3slo0lx4caa I can't remember when this actually plays, but this song is one of my favorites in the game outside of battle themes. Catchy, has a flute-like instrument, an obvious and easy-to-catch theme, and a consistent beat. Fury Sparks - http://www.mediafire.com/?xkw1h4akl7py4a8 A once-per-game battle theme used at a very emotional moment for people who've played the game. The main character and a childhood friend have an actual factual duel. A sort of rivalry between the two is solved here, finally, after being hinted toward since very early in the game. In fact, it was first brought up within the first minute of play. While good, this song feels a tad incomplete. There's too many "empty areas" in it in my opinion, and it feels a little too rigid. I thought OCRemix would be the right place to find a solution to that. This song is my original reason for even posting here today. The Final Showdown - http://www.mediafire.com/?c185te8o5iz3a6m The name says it all. This is the End Boss theme for ToV. Not much else to say is there? A Once-in-a-Lifetime Duel - http://www.mediafire.com/?bw0a67t87io21by Can't remember when this plays, but it's also a pretty catchy as far as the game's combat themes go. Resolution of the People ~ from "Ring a Bell" - http://www.mediafire.com/?1i7u7lc33ed6u8f This song I like quite a lot. It's based around a song that was made around the same time, but not for, the game by an up and coming Japanese singer. Apparently, she used ToV as a debut for her new album, and because of that her album sold a ridiculous number of copies. The original song is called Ring a Bell and the English version can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73SA7hCXl4g. Sang by the same singer who made the original too. As far as this specific song, I love the original, so I love this one too. It's pretty simple really. I'd love to see what someone can make of this. Thanks for bearing with my wall of text. Sorry about that, not much I could do without cutting what I felt was important information. Thanks again.
