I wanted to reach out to you to share something with you guys! I recently quit my job to become a VG composer full-time, and I wanted to show you my very first video game OST! Plus it contains live guitar, recorder, harmonica, mandolin, and some wonderful live performances by violinist Melissa Ou. Inspired by classic action-RPGs like Secret of Mana, Alcarys Complex sought to break established tropes in the genre and reinvent the RPG gaming experience. The game has a heavy focus on narrative and socialization instead of combat, while its graphics and feel stay true to its 16-bit roots. The game's creators chose to make their soundtrack entirely folk music, because that genre is virtually nonexistent in game soundtracks.
