TheCoffinRobber
Hey Y'all I'm new to OcRemix, and was kinda wondering what the "policy" is on using guitar riffs from popular songs (eg: AC/DC's Back in Black) in remixes is, another one is, can we use multiple games in one remix? I'll wait till I get answers to these before I ask any more...
Yoozer
From Remixing > Submission instructions and standards: Make sure your ReMix is original and your own, does not borrow too heavily from outside sources In the real world you are required to clear your samples; e.g. ask permission from the original artist before you make anything. While it could be argued that 1) remixing is not necessarily for profit and 2) it might fall under 'tribute to', I still wouldn't do it. Just let someone else re-play the part, in that case you're much safer off. If you need someone for that, ask it in the Live Performers offer and request thread. another one is, can we use multiple games in one remix? Again, from the same source: (have you read it already?) It is strongly encouraged that you limit material being ReMixed to a single game for each submission. Your ReMix will only be titled or "assigned" a single game in our database, regardless of how many games' music it contains, though we can mention in our write-up what other titles were covered.
