MrFisticuffs
I'm liking what I've heard about this, and I've meddled with the demo a bit, but I was wondering if anyone has really played with the ins and outs of this program and could give me some pros/cons. I think the biggest draw for me is the price combined with me being primarily a guitarist. Would I be better off saving my pennies for something like Sonar 5? sgx
It's probably a good choice depending on what you want it for. If you're just going to record guitar and sequence loops, it should be great. I don't think it has any midi support though, so if you were interested in using virtual instruments you could be out of luck. Other than that, if you don't know/understand what Sonar offers over what Guitar Tracks offers, chances are you don't need it (yet, at least). I think there's probably a nice discount later to upgrade your Guitar Tracks to Sonar if you wish to do that in the future, so you're not going to be wasting any money. Or you could grab Sonar Home Studio which is quite nice and quite inexpensive.
MrFisticuffs
Yeah, I don't own a midi controller or play much with VSTs or anything like that. All I really want/need is a nice, full featured program for recording guitar, bass, and vocals.
