I was looking around the competition section of the forums and it looks like most compos on this site are based on remixes of VG songs. But plenty of you write original music too. If any of you are interested we have an ongoing tune contest on Gametabs. There aren't too many rules which allows plenty of freedom and creativity. The general rules are that the song is at least one minute long. Any style or genre of music is acceptable as long as you stick to the current theme. Live instruments, sequenced, or a mix of both can be used. Sound quality of the instruments is never really a factor when choosing the winner. Although we don't exactly have set criteria for winning and no group voting, the host generally just chooses who they think best represented the theme. And the winner gets to host the next contest and choose the theme. When we started the contests we had only one week, then eventually moved it up to two. Now we are holding them every three weeks. Lots of great tabs if you play guitar or bass. I hope some of you can join! We only get about 5 submissions on average, so we were trying generate some interest from other sites.
