From Dungeonmans Remanstered, timaeus222 (Truong-Son Nguyen) hits us up with a sweet, genre-blending trip through Eastern flavors, EDM components, some orchestral bits, and amazingly polished processing & tweaking... especially considering the short-order/compo nature of its origins:

"This was for the Dungeonmans remix contest. :) Nothing too extravagant here, but I was having a lot of fun with huge basses, dulcimer, saz (pluck and percussive taps), hand drum/tabla tarangs (Platinum Percussion/Crypto Cipher), Indian ragas samples (Crypto Cipher), and a synthesized zourna lead! I decided on that fake zourna just because I didn't want a slow envelope, I wanted a fast one. I did this in the style of my Yu-Gi-Oh! ReMix from the GB album. I think this took, like, 3 days, but I ran outta time, so I sneaked in an ending. :P Speed submit!

Rough Source Breakdown:
0:10-0:31 - "Imperishable Solitude" (early portion)
0:31-0:45 - "Unremembered Miscreation" (strings melody)
0:45-0:58 - "Imperishable Solitude" (last portion)
0:59-1:12 - "Imperishable Solitude" (intro)
1:14-1:26 - "Unremembered Miscreation" variation (strings melody)
1:28-1:47 - "Disquieting Quagmire"
2:17-2:29 - "Imperishable Solitude" (intro)
2:31-2:43 - "Unremembered Miscreation" (strings melody)"

That he was able to put this together in three days makes me angry, jealous, and impressed :) Seriously fun stuff, high-energy, reminds me of Jake's Shantae mix at times (note: you gotta mix Shantae, now, timaeus!), and overall just a blast. Lush production, with plenty of attention to detail & multiple points of interest. Emunator concurs:

"Wait... you did this in three days? I don't know how that's even possible, the level of detail in every little part of this track is unbelievable. The rhythms, complex glitching, and polished production just goes to show how quickly you've nailed down your craft if you can churn something out like this in just a matter of days. Commendable work."

Well said; I guess if I HAD to find a criticism, it's that I'd have appreciated some solo melodic interpretation where the notes themselves get a little more focus - the production is so darn shiny that it sometimes might take the place of more conventional arrangement devices - but that's only if I'm really stretching for something constructively critical to say. Overall, this packs an exotic roller-coaster ride into just under three minutes, and shows how versatile, creative, & efficient the artist has become!

Honestly, this doesn't even really seem all that short to me, and even if it is, there is a lot of impressive work in this mix for only three days. Strong Eastern arrangement with some glitchy synths to add energy and action makes for the kind of ReMix that partially reminds me of some of the later levels in some Prince of Persia games, just with better production if you know what I mean. Great mix, and I gotta echo DJP in that I'd love to see you tackle some Shantae themes with how well you you handled faster energy and Eastern sounds from this one. Nice work!

Thank you, I really appreciate that! Actually, a Shantae remix ("On Fire") already went through the queue!

Oh man is this track so good. I loved how the vibe of Eastern music blends so well with the electronic music you’ve produced. This track strikes me as something that could be used as a battle theme, or the theme of a fast paced action level. I didn’t even realize how short this track is, as I enjoyed it so much to make me lose track of time.

Solid intro here. Nice pads, percussions, voice samples and synths used to create the eastern feeling. The bass that enters at 0:45 has a cool saw effect but sounds a bit thin, like if it lacked more bass. Not sure if I have much else to say, the samples are nice, production is clean and the arrangement is fun, even if it doesn't have many catchy melodies. You really nail this heavier electronic sound which is quite zircon-ish. Maybe, even too zircon-ish! That's a compliment of course, but I'd be interested in having you branch out a bit more sometimes.

It's a nice listen but also strange, because there's so much going on. XD In parts it has an old school vibe, particularly 2:15-2:30. Lovely listen. :)

Damn, dude, this is an exceptionally awesome! It's really amazing that you managed to create such a complicated mix in just 3 days! Definitely one of my personal highlights of DR :) Very tight stuff!

3 days... Christ. I agree that there is a lot going on here, lots of great cross-genre stuff and glitching to boot. Yeah, it's a shorter mix, but still. 3 days. Even without that, nice work.
