Next up is the one & only WillRock (William Harby) with an explosive synth-rock ReMix of "Flying Battery Zone" from S&K; STA director Black_Doom writes:
"When I was recruiting people for this album, there were some ReMixers I knew I had to invite and WillRock was certainly one of them. Luckily, he agreed to join us and claimed an iconic track from Sonic & Knuckles - "Flying Battery Zone." And nothing had been happening for more than a year, yeah. But then he managed to come up with a finished track in less than a month! All in all, this is a classic WillRock track - there's some cool vintage stuff, wild synth soloing, a bit of neat guitar shreddage thrown in for a good measure, and whatnot. Don't lose your consciousness when listening to this track, especially if you're afraid of flights and/or badass music!"
Sounds about right; high-energy, uptempo, and the synth solo is (surprise!) a definite highlight, with spirals & bends & plenty of wankage. Fellow album director Jorito agrees:
"Will was a silent claimer for a long time, but when he delivers, he delivers! In true WillRock style, we get treated with his crazy synth arps, signature solos and typical arrangement flair to keep you on your toes. What more could you want? During the creation of the track, he posted a snippet of his work on SoundCloud, where he mashed up his WIP with Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." That mashup will be burned in my brain for ages to come and it can't be unheard anymore, but I'm happy to say that, without the vocals, this track is even better."
WR is so consistent and has his personal style down so well that one might otherwise take his mixes for granted, but each joint has something different going for it, each solo iterates a bit, and there are always Easter eggs & slick arrangement ideas thrown in which not only differentiate his mixes among themselves, but also make them stand out in ANY context. Great harmonies, wicked FM bits, blistering solo, shimmering arpeggios, and an indefatigable momentum - great stuff!

You made it sound like a boss battle in the beginning... A new, more aggressive side of Will!

Excellent. Studly. Rocking. All of that would have been more than sufficient, but WOW, 2:45-3:20 is just arresting, and 3:20-3:45 IS INCREDIBLE. How did you manage this out of this song??? What an interlude!! It made the whole song and the finale just really pop! I liked how this started, it got great, and the ending delivered - talk about something that picks up steam and finishes!! Woo!
