Happy Pride Month! This is REMIX NUMBER SIXTY for loud & proud veteran ReMixer MkVaff, who hits us with an infectious dose of trance/dance EDM, taking on the insanely-catchy, slithering melodic hooks of "Snake Man" from MM3:

"Thanks for posting the "Hyrule Castle" remix. I wasn't going to sub anything else before my previous mix was posted, because I don't want to needlessly clog up your queue when you already have tons of great stuff there waiting. That said, here's one I really enjoyed putting together and thought it might be a solid addition to the Mega Man mixes on the site.

About 10 years ago, before I began producing music again after a long hiatus, I came across the "Snake Man" theme on my iPod (remember those?) and I remember thinking to myself how so many of these Mega Man theme songs were pure game music perfection. I remembered how these songs on the NES would get stuck in my head while playing the games on the NES - even before I realized how much I enjoyed listening to game music on its own.

And then - when I began to really listen to and arrange game music - I rediscovered many of the Mega Man soundtracks and had an entirely new appreciation for how catchy they were and how exquisitely they were composed for the NES. When considering what songs I wanted to include as part of my "Pulse" remixes, the "Snake Man" theme from Mega Man 3 stood out as one of the coolest, most energetic songs I could remix for the project. It's such a great theme, and so many great mixes out there.

While some of my recent remixes have been a bit more challenging for me to produce, the "Snake Man" remix seemed to just flow from the beginning. I wanted to spice it up a little while staying true to the original song. The original melody and tempo just seemed to fit in perfectly with what had envisioned for the sound of the project, and it was a lot of fun to put together.

While a lot of the recent trance-inspired songs I've been producing have featured prominent breakdowns in the middle of the track, for the "Snake Man" theme, I didn't want the energy to lower considerably. So I tried to keep the momentum going throughout the track by playing around with the melodies and even adding a short solo section in the middle of the song. I hope you enjoy! Thanks!"

It's fun! And so, so addictive!! As a parent, I watch a lot of kids films, and I'm remembering the monologue from Barb, Queen of the Hard Rock Trolls, as she rages against pop and its catchy, ear-worm melodies that crawl inside your head and stay there. This is one of those, even if it's not technically pop, and Mike gets a lot of mileage out of the beefy melodic payload of Harumi Fujita & Yasuaki Fujita. Great stuff!
