Our first featured mix of Bomberman Hero (N64) comes from Chris Belair (Adeseye Agbaje), formerly Air3s, who hits us with an energized bit of EDM that does a great job of building tension and then exploding with action, not unlike the game:
"Messing with some new tools, decided to make this. Finally got around to finishing this. ;/"
Larry Oji's fuse is lit:
"I'm a fan of Adeseye's style, so this was a treat, including the cute Bomberman main theme cameo at :47. I like his instrumentation choices, and, like his past pair of mixes, Adeseye brought some density and power here. You've got a reasonably pumping soundscape, an infectious dance beat, and a smooth wind-down section to pull things back before returning to the groove. Every different major part of the source was referenced through clever textural additions and subtractions, which is always a sign of a strong arrangement. 2:47's & 3:32's sections being a cut-and-paste of 1:07's weren't ideal, but it did have less going on without the background SFX at 2:47, so there was a minor difference; the expansion and personalization of the source tune as well as the dynamic contrast in the first 2/3rds was substantial enough to withstand the repetition though, so it's just pointing out that there were opportunities for further variation and development. That said, the source tune itself is pretty disjointed and not particularly melodious, IMO, so props to Chris for making it more musical, fleshing it out, and ramping up the energy level with a spacey feel! Glad to get more Bomberman representation on OCR!"
I love the wind-up & suspense of the first build & drop, and the elasticity of the subsequent synth bass pairs nice with the smoother synth and - what's this? - vibraphone that come in later. 1'38" has some slick filtered chord pads leading into a sine-wave, theremin-esque solo, and overall the dynamic fluctuation and diverse instrumentation keep things both interesting & bangin'; great stuff from Adeseye, and as Larry says, also good to see Bomberman back in the spotlight as well!

I feel like that bass groove was doing its' best to embed itself into my cranium. Very nice remix, quite enjoyable to listen to! :)

Gotta admit, this is some super nice stuff! The blend of electronica with vibes and some other jazzy stuff quickly reminded me of TGH's "Wily's Bubble Bath" remix. And I love that track soooooo much! Really awesome work here
