  1. It's been fixed for the most part, from what I can tell (though I've mostly been on when no one else is, so I don't know if the extra load from more players would cause issues). There is still some issues with dirt and sand when digging using the diamond shovel, as you can destroy them so fast that the server can't seem to keep up, but other than that issue it seems to be working fine...

Cool I may have to try again to see if I get frustrated with the lag or not.

/home breaks the survival aspect of Survival Multiplayer. Plain and simple.

aww dood take a look to the problems I see from it.

  2. Complaining about /home being removed is ridiculous.

Either the feature didn't work and he had to remove it, or he didn't want it in the game and removed it.

    That simple.

At this point in dev, features are going to be added or removed. It's part of the development process.

If the software destroyed your C: drive, I'd understand actual complaints, but right now, the complaints are not well presented. Comparing /home to walking or logging in is just plain stupid. Can you play the game without logging in? Can you play without spawning? Can you play without teleporting? One of these things is not like the other.

In regards to /home being taken out for developing issues, fair enough as who knows if it will actually return anyways; especially if the player gets glitched on the world/underground that said player can't escape. Normally I'd say it's dangerous as a game breaking bug where a player can't reset short of deleting all of his/her work... Well... You should be able to guess what happens next.

So it's his game, and his rules. Sounds quite an acceptable policy to me.

Say that again after doing what could amount to a month's time of playing and then suddenly being forced to erase it all.

  3. ...the idiots here are the people who still, after a couple of months, can't fathom what it means to play a game in development.

    That simple.

Yes, I called you an idiot. Cry about it.

How often do regular consumers often buy products that are in their alpha stages though; specifically how often would gamers, before minecraft, have bought games that were in alpha stages...? Playtesters understandably are actually paid to playtest games for quality control and debugging to the best of their ability.

You have no good reason to call others idiots when all the complaining towards Minecraft is perfectly justified as it's called criticism. If we didn't complain that would easily give the impression that we, the consumer, are so complacent that dog shit would do just fine in place of digital blocks.

To Notch's credit, at least he does listen and is willing to make improvements/updates to fix/build the game to his vision; which hopefully would satisfy or calm down the buyers.

  4. On the bright side

if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.

so no real loss for those of us that paid during alpha. Now to go back to and trying again to...

  5. Speaking of which... it appears that Mafia II and Magic both have demos. I wonder if you can get the achievements through those... anyone wanna check? My connection is so poor it would take until tomorrow to download the demos. Q_Q

MtG I may consider... $2.50, the price of a key to open a crate, not so bad. Would also be reliving my junior highschool years... Certainly cheaper than buying the actual decks of cards back in the day...

  6. Well, the next two days of Treasure Hunt objectives kinda blow. I don't have any of the 3 games required. Q_Q Oh well, at least the first one was easy (like usual). I guess with those they're trying to get more people involved in the Steam "community".

EDIT: By the way, the games are "Mafia II", "Magic: The Gathering", and "Droplitz".

seem like a nice mix of both Tetris and the Hacking mini game from Bioshock. Will most likely try the demo at least if that becomes an objective. Not likely gonna buy the others though...

    Oh yeah

seems to still be on sale; %50 off.
  7. The VGGW is dumb if only because it creates generalizations rather than specifics on certain games. When I think SHMUPS I'm thinking Gradius, R-TYPE, Touhou Project and Cho Aniki. I wouldn't lump them with Batman Arkham Asylum, Castlevania: LoS, Bayonetta, and Splatterhouse just because they would all fall in "Action Conflict" games.

Also people have tried applying this to music, especially with the different varieties of Metal. Terrible idea as it just muddles everything for everyone searching for specific sound/music/band etc. When I'm trying to find something by Helloween I rather not suddenly get Linkin Park or Nickelback as a result of my searching just because they are better known to the ignorant masses. :<

  8. There are two lots, there's the community whorehouse, which is the path southeast of spawn, through the forest.

It's a respectable whorehouse thank you very much and it has about six furnaces last I checked in the basement for your needs.

  9. So you guys are participating on the TF2 Beta testings as well..?

    Prepare for your examination!

    December 2, 2010 - TF2 Team

As you've probably seen by now, we like to change things in Team Fortress 2. A lot. And while we're perfect most of the time, we occasionally get something wrong. One reason for this is we just don't get enough data from internal play testing, and another is that we spend too much time watching Tom Bui serenades on Youtube (Hint: Search for "Tom Bui" on Youtube) (Another Hint: Click here). So to help us change TF2 even more frequently, we're pleased to announce the Team Fortress 2 (public) Beta.

  10. Where is your place, anyway?

Abadoss, I don't know whether I should facepalm super hard, wonder if I had ever told you about it, or do both and wait for the probable, eventual explosion from certain parties...

Work, real life and Disgaea 2 been keeping me away from the server but I know I haven't been gone THAT long for any one to forget already.

  11. I would've, but you'd be surprised at how much content the Air Force blocks from the internet. Pretty much anything 4chan related is blocked.

    There's always google

But I do understand what you mean as around here the facilities' IT guys managed to block out 2ch as well as 4chan.

    Those bastards

I KNOW YOU CAN READ THIS YOU TURBO NERDS!
