  1. Anyone know where I can buy one of those 4-pin speakers for my motherboard? My case didn't come with one, and neither did my mobo.

Needless to say it was difficult isolating the problem that was causing my setup not to POST. mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA 790FX - DQ6, which is compatible with Phenom Chips, but not until you update the BIOS to the 4th version.

I want to avoid having such a difficult time troubleshooting in the future when it's such a simple problem.

This is especially true now that even though my pc has been working fine for a few weeks, it has decided to halt during the PCI device listing at the ACPI Controller (a problem which originated when I tried to put a 3870 and a 3870 x2 in crossfire). I've been working on it for a while now to no avail. (reset CMOS and BIOS, swapped RAM/HD/Vid Cards)

I'm starting to think it's my Power supply, (Gigabyte odin 800W) or my mobo.

here's a vid as to what is going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDGM9ZTBBAE

Thanks for any help you can provide.

(also, my mobo offers no way of turning ACPI off as far as I can tell.)

I may just be SOL. :-P

  2. They used the worst samples ever for Kefka's Theme. yeowch

Plus, there's seems to be annoying lag in almost every part of the game. It might just be the many videos online that I've seen and they do not reflect the truth, idk.

    *spoilers* Final Battle

^ framerate in that video appears to be worse than the final battle of FF5 GBA

Gamespot.com has a good article about XP Vs. Vista as far as gaming is concerned. Obviously in the article you will need at least 1Gb of ram to do anything' date=' with 2-3gb being the "sweet spot" for gaming.

Most games only have a few FPS difference between XP and Vista. Not the performance promised from DirectX10 I was hoping for initially, but that to be expected with any new platform, you have to give the developers time to upgrade and optimize everything first.[/quote']

Checking out the Conan DX9/DX10 comparison I thought to myself, "Can Conan DJP?"

  4. A lot of the remixes I used to enjoy lost their wow factor after I realized that they were just a novelty. I would wager that a small minority of the songs in OCR are actually of a high enough quality (innovation, sound quality, depth of composition, etc.) to have a lasting appeal.

The reason you think that it was somehow different in the past is because there was a period of 3-4 years when perhaps 1 or 2 songs a month would have such a lasting quality, and they accumulated. The quality hasn't really suffered.

I can't say that I don't agree with the TC in the respect that I really am not that interested in the new mixes, but that is my preference not the weakness of the mixers.

Edit: I've gotta say, however, that the sound quality of the new Chrono mix is crap. They should've been forced to retake or NO'd.

Edit: Also, a lot of the obvious logical inspirations for making a mix have already been taken. Honestly, whoever decides to make a metal remix of Clockwork from CV is gonna get beat on by Goat's "Trevor's Reflection". The "I came before you principal" applies here. Especially if a good job is done the first time.

  5. Yeah, you use your dominant hand to draw when using such things, and that's what Link does.

Hell, even in FF IV you can see that in effect. If you equip a right-handed character with a bow in their right and the arrows in their left, the attack power is lower than it would be with the items reversed.

lol, proof by videogame (not that it's incorrect)
