    How did you get your handle?

    I have OCD (I currently type to you through a pair of paper towels) and my friends like to take jabs at me because of it. I don't mind, as one of my ways of dealing with it is to embrace it.

    One night, I was showing my friend a computer game when the phone rang. It was for him and when he finished using the phone, he put the reciever on my computer desk instead of the table it came from. This bugged the shit out of me so I reached over and moved it back to it's proper place. That's when he commented in a sarcastic tone "Okay, Captain OCD!" I loved the name so much that I made it my handle.

    I remember what game you're talking about, but not the name. your character wore some goofy hat and sweatshirt with a really high collar and glasses... I think. Anyway, he was featured in a series of games, I can remember playing one wher you went around gathering these parts for a car and then racing it.

    The one thing that sticks out for me about the game you mentioned was this little cave you had that you stored all the items you won in. Everytime you'd scale the mountian, you'd get to the top and they'd give you some stupid little item and you'd drop back down to the bottom to do it all over again. I can recall two of the games they had you play, one was with weights and a balance, and the other was where you went into this dark cave and these little glowy gems would appear and you'd have to count them within a time limit. Of course, too many would appear at once and you'd have to revert to multiplication.

    If it helps (and if we're talking about the same game), I think I played it on the Mac. Not to say that it wasn't on the PC, but when I was in grade and middle school, they had nothing but Macs.

    I find it difficult for anyone to look elegant when playing high bpm songs on ddr. It just limits your time to react and make more elegant step patterns. After a while it just looks like the same three patterns over and over again. Standing on your tip-toes just makes things seem that much more forced. I mean, the only person I can think of who dances like that is Michael Jackson when he moon walks, but he doesn't do that for an entire performance. His heels touch the ground eventually.

    That's why I like free-styling and just winging songs over perfect-attacks.

    Yeah, I meant he looks as graceful as you can be playing such a song. "Precise and mechanical" might of been a better choice of words.

    If you check out my videos, you'll see that I play on my toes too. This is because my playing style is heavily influenced by Yasu and Take. Their videos were my only reference to learning the harder songs, not to mention I idolized them when I was playing Light and Standard. I never played in public until I was well into Heavy, so I missed out on all the mentoring I could of gotten from experienced local players who almost exclusively play flat footed.

    Goofy? That looks graceful and elegant to me. It's to the point that it almost seems like the song was played in slow motion and then the video was sped up after.

    Kobayan is a freak though, haha. Notice the way he steps? I heard he walks around like that too.

    That sounds like a stupid rumor people make up about popular players. Freak? Come on. :\

    You really, really ought to link which stepfile you're talking about, 'cause there could be a dozen shitty ones for every good one.

    Also, Atma is speedmod-elitist ITT?

    While I don't care how someone chooses to play the game (using the bar/mods), you can't deny that the challenge of bag comes from the inability to effectively read the arrows due to its freakish BPM.

    I bought an OCR jersey

    I'm posting this in GD because the Shirts thread is basically dead and I wanted to get the word out.

    I had an OCR jersey from back in the day when they were still selling them at ZTNET and I was in high school. I loved it to death. As with all things, it eventually became worn out and I had to get rid of it.

    A few days ago, I decided to pick up another. I ordered everything the same way: jersey, navy blue, XL. It just arrived a few minutes ago and am pretty disappointed with it. It is insanely large, way bigger than my first one (keep in mind I was in high school then). I am 6'4 and this thing is bordering on a nightgown in length. I could walk around without pants and probably get away with it. I am praying that it will shrink a great amount when I wash it.

    That's not really my main problem, though. I'm not a huge clothes person, so I don't really know the exact structure of how jerseys are supposed to look, but all of my previous jerseys (including my first OCR jersey) looked like this at the bottom:

    It just really feels kind of cheap and flimsy. Also, the material is fairly thin. Like I said, I'm not sure if this is just the standard setup for a jersey.

    I'm more then happy to contribute money to the site, you guys certainly deserve it. I'm just disappointed that I won't have an OCR shirt to sport around town. :(

    My advice to anyone wanting to get a shirt, order a size smaller and get the regular t-shirt, not the jersey. I'll update if it shrinks to a reasonable size.
