  1. Are physicals being shipped out for those who pre-ordered? Just making sure there's nothing extra I have to do to get it.

    you'll get an e-mail notification once it is shipped. it'll be another week at least before I have them, but they should be shipped out before the end of June. :) sorry for the delay though, I hoped to have had them by now, but there were a few extra steps in the process that I was not aware of.

  2. yeah, I was really hoping for this one to spread it's wings a little more in the second half. the intro and general first half of the arrangement was great imo, and I didn't have a problem with the way it was used or how long the intro was, as it was definitely over 50%. the piece just kinda lost momentum halfway through, not sure what a better way to put it would be. a nice foundation, but needs a little more polish, imo.

  3. always excited to hear more ambient tracks.. bonus points for more skrypnyk too. :D I didn't think this was as tight as your last mix ("Lucid States"), which was excellent, and I gotta agree with some of the crits mentioned here. there were definitely some wonky transitions, and the ending was.. strangely executed. however the overall track was clicking and of passable quality. would request to see something less awkward done with the ending, but no bearing on the vote;

  4. yeah, the overall arrangment is way to sparse here, and the composition itself, particularly the leads, seems completely awkward and random to me. the lack of any sort of chord structure or progression or reference point of any sort behind the melodies makes it even harder for me to make any sense of this. sorry to be harsh on this, I wish I could provide some helpful criticism, but I'm not sure what else to say. just not feeling this one.

  5. I like some of the ideas and arrangement here, interesting change half way through, almost kinda reminds me of ratatat a bit in the second half. the transition seemed a bit radical though, and the overall arrangement felt a bit rushed. also gotta agree that most of the sequencing is completely robotic, the sounds themselves are clicking together but the sequencing makes the whole track feel fake, especially during the arpeggios and such, as Vinnie mentioned. I'll agree that this is one of your stronger subs, however I think it still needs some work to reach the bar.

  6. loved the first transition into the slightly faster tempo (mostly because I thought the intro was a little sloppy), but some of the transitions after that were definitely feeling weird and medleyish as the others have mentioned, and the pad breakdown felt overly long and kinda out of place to me. not as tight as some of your past sub(s) but I'll agree that overall the arrangement and production were passable, although borderline imo.

  7. some good crits here that I'll agree too. some of that drum writing was definitely pretty robotic, especially during the fills and more energetic bits. the overall track was also definitely feeling kinda sparse as well, and the soundscape is static and doesn't evolve very much over the course of the piece. I agree with Deia's crits on the arrangement but I think changing up/layering in more sounds more often would make the keep the arrangement feeling fresh without having to change much of the actual composition. definitely a solid piece you've got here, but I think one more coat of polish would really make it shine.

  8. well, first off, my job isn't that sucky. Its not luxurious by any means, but its low stress, and i get a shit ton of free time. secondly, it's not that strange to have to work on a weekend, is it? I mean, places are open and they need employees to operate.. especially if you have a slightly less-than-well paying job that offers little to no control over your schedule. that's just life. but for what its worth, I work for a chain of parking garages at the downtown mall in Indianapolis.

  9. I anxiously await its arrival mr. cyon

    hahaha, thank ye kindly. same to Mirby, Red Shadow, Brandon, urdailywater, Modus, and everyone else in here that preordered one, it's super appreciated. I will have the discs in about 2 weeks and they are gonna look great, I'm so excited. :D I'll keep you guys posted, I'll be shipping them out and releasing the album the moment they arrive.

    JUNE 15 edit: it's out! :) I got about a little behind in the printing process (didn't realize how much additional last-minute crap went into doing a disc fulfillment :P), but the physicals should be shipped out by the end of the month.

    ----

    Hey everyone! I'm super excited to announce that my first full-length album, Pixel Perfect Complete, is now available for pre-order! The digital album will be available for free/pay-what-you-want download, however this time I am also going to be printing some beautiful physical copies, in traditional jewel cases with full color artwork and disc.

    The album itself has over 20 tracks and clocks in at approximately 70 minutes. The tracklist features the thirteen original Pixel tracks (from the EP/LP), two all new tracks and a remix by yours truly, and a handful of remixes by various artists in the VGM arrangement/indie communities, including our very own Flexstyle and JR (known around these parts as TheGuitahHeroe).

    Check out the Bandcamp page for more details, complete tracklisting and artwork previews. Physical copies are $10 a pop, with free shipping to US and Canada. International orders will have a shipping charge of $4. Release date is scheduled for June 15th. I don't know if these are gonna sell fast, slow, or at all, but there will only be 50 copies, so get your pre-order in before they run out! If there's enough response, I might be able to swing 100 copies, but I don't know if I can get that kind of traction. Prove me wrong! ;D

    As always, enjoy the music!

  11. I gotta agree with Larry, and also point out that I think the instrumentation was a bit crowded at times, not to the detriment of the sound quality, it's just that with so many instruments simultaneously playing very similar riffs or rhythms, it was hard to pick out what was supposed to be the lead, and nothing really held my attention until the synth soloing started later anyway. I think smoothing out the levels and adjusting to fill out the soundscape a bit more would get this to baller status, as the arrangement is pretty rockin'. I could see this passing, so best of luck with the rest of the vote, but for now I'm gonna go with a
