  1. I have to admit that the movie did take a turn for the predictable when Wikus decided to help Christopher get the fluid back, but I also got to see a giant robot fling a pile of pig carcasses at people and snatch a missile right out of the air, so I can't complain :P

Honestly I am so glad D9 got so many nominations at the Oscars. It is a good sign for Neill Blomkamp to make another awesome movie.

  2. The online is really fun but it takes quite a bit to get a game started, but once you get a game going, its really fast and fun to set matches. Human opponents are obviously way more aggressive and cunning. Lots of bumping and way more deadly traps than in Season mode. Love it!

  3. So I've already completed the first 4 episodes and my favorite mode so far is survival or air strike. The races are fun, but survival and air strike are just pure adrenaline! Anyone else completely hate the detonation mode though? It's too meticulous and it sucks that I'm missing out on some credits because I only have second place on a few of the detonation modes :/

  4. I agree pretty much with what you've said. The game does seem to take itself a little too seriously, but maybe that's a little on purpose since it is imitating American reality TV? (which by the way if not for the low polygons on some of the objects on the track, you could swear that it was a TV show, even the title screen looks like the opening to a sports show. They really nailed the whole high-budget extreme sports show angle they were going for) Honestly I'm definitely going to turn the music off if at all possible in the real game because I already have a whole playlist of awesome tunes in my computer for racing games. Can't wait for Tuesday.

  5. So has anyone played this game? I played the demo and was instantly in love. This game seems to be everything that I felt was missing from Excite Truck on the Wii.

Basically as you race you have to collect points and then use those points to trigger traps along the course to make other players crash. The demo certainly gave me a bit of a rush, especially when using the in-car camera. I'm probably gonna pick it up tomorrow.

At one point I had someone land a plane on me. I was flying down the track and thought, "Boy that plane ahead seems to be flying pretty low". A few milliseconds before impact I realized it was trying to crush me. And it succeeded.

EDIT- Apparently it's not out until Tuesday. My bad.

  6. Well I was hoping for some awesome HD sprite action, but DAYUM that new comic book-ish shading looks sweet!

btw Capcom, where the hell is MvC2 HD Remix? (a lost cause I know but I can dream)

oh and Dante. DMC1 Dante if you have any sense Capcom. ANY SENSE.

  7. Actually I read that 9.0 was the version that caused the problem, so i downgraded to 8.5, but it was still freezing, so I just shut off all of my add-ons. I still have Windows Defender running and I've also heard that having 2 anti-spyware programs can cause severe performance issues.

  8. Well I shut off all of my Firefox add-ons and was online for about an hour with no freezing. Seems like I'll have to go through my Firefox add-ons and see which one is causing the problem.

I know I don't have any viruses, and turning off the add-ons seems to have done the trick so far. Thanks for the suggestions. If it starts happening again I'll probably post caps of the process manager and see if anyone finds anything strange.

  9. I'm dual booting a MacBook Pro and the system profiler has little to no info about the mobo or psu. This is not just a Mac issue tho! People across desktops and laptops of all sorts are having this problem. This is definitely a Windows 7 problem. I'm just looking for a possible solution.

  10. I've been researching this problem for months to no avail and was just wondering who on here has had this problem and possibly a solution?

Whenever I browse the internet (on IE or Firefox) for more than about 15-20 minutes, the computer completely freezes. I always have to do a hard reset. I've checked event logs and there's no error (besides improper shutdown) and it's really REALLY annoying and is not healthy for the system.

I've tried everything. Some say it's the new Firefox that causes it. I downgraded and still freezes. Others claim it is the anti-virus I'm using. I switched it, still no help. Still others claim it's a bad nvidia driver. Updated to the newest driver and still bad.

    Any help at all?

    Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz

    2 GB DDR3 RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

  11. Do you know how much work that would be? You'd literally have to make an entire game for the PS3 and then remake the entire game for the Wii, or vice versa. No developer in their right mind is ever going to do that - especially if it's for a game that will probably turn out shitty because of stupid fucking motion controls.

Need more examples? It happens a lot more often than you'd think.

  12. Honestly, I've been excited about the Move.

After the Wii's supreme disappointment with "realistic motion tracking" I've been doubting motion controls, but then I realized the technical limitations that have hindered the Wii.

-The Wii cannot read all six degrees of motion without the Motion Plus. The original Wii remote can only read thrust, pitch, roll, and lift. The Motion Plus adds yaw and strafe.

-The Wii cannot tell where in space the remote is unless the infared sensor on the top is aimed at the sensor bar.

BUT the Move can do all of those things via the PlayStation Eye and the Controller. Plus multiple Controllers can be used for one player, which the Wii has yet to do. (The nunchuck does not count. It lacks the same tracking abilities and buttons as the remote.) The Move may not be able to attract casual gamers the way the Wii has, but it will be able to do many more things that hardcore gamers are interested in the the Wii could never do.
