  1. Pretty sweet, if you ask me. It's really nice to see this kind of take on a Zelda piece simply because it's so rarely done. Plus, I absolutely love the Song of Storms, so this was a very enjoyable listen for me. There's not really anything in here that strikes me as needing a change, your ReMix is really very solid all around. I wish you the best of luck in submitting
  2. Ah yes, the joys of being financially challenged. :\ There's alot you can get with little to even NO money. You've just got to search around. I see what you're going for, and the idea is awesome. I just wish the song wasn't so MIDIish. This is pretty solid. I'm still listening to the whole thing, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Great job, and maybe when you have the money, or the right stuff, you can come back to this and use more real sounding sounds. |GX They're right, of course. The arrangement, in my opinion, is simply awesome and extremely captivating. Despite the extensive length of the piece, I did not once find myself bored or wanting it to turn it off. The variations were so different from one another, yet invariably exciting, and the sound quality is really the only thing holding your composition back from being absolutely astounding. I've never actually played FFVI, sadly, but I do recognize this theme from several other remixes that incorporated it in the past. And to be honest, I think the actual arrangement of yours for exceeds that of any of the others I've heard. It's plain as day that you have talent, and I sincerely hope you are able to find a way to improve the sound quality, so this amazing mix can become the jaw-dropping composition it was truly meant to be. I fully understand your financial situation, I've long wanted to try my own hand at remixing, yet have never had the kind of funds necessary to do so. Perhaps because of this, I find the thought that this piece may never reach its full potential to be very painful. I sincerely hope that you are able to find the necessary resources to truly bring this masterpiece to life... and if anyone here happens to know how I could obtain such resources myself, I would be very grateful.
  3. Agreed. The harmony throughout the piece is very nice, and I believe it does have the potential to make it onto OCR, if you're willing to put a little more work into it. I strongly suggest taking avaris' suggestions, and you will be well on the road to having your submission accepted. I'd love to see this make the front page, it really is a gorgeous piece of music. As for the other game references, I heard Rydia's theme from FFIV VERY briefly (like three notes of it) earlier in the piece, and then again more extensively later (it sounded beautiful, by the way). Immediately after that, I caught a nice piano rendition of the Mute City theme from the F-Zero series. I was particularly impressed with how well you made the latter fit in so unobtrusively, had I not recognized it, I never would have known it was from a game so drastically different from Final Fantasy. Again, nice work, just needs some minor details touched up. Good luck on getting this accepted =)
  4. My think is remix have potential. Selection for song be good. Arrangement cool, quality for sound not what think perfect though. Good luck
  5. I've always loved this piece of music, too, and although I'm not an expert on ReMixing (I've never submitted one of my own before, although I've always wanted to, I can't afford the equipment), I can certainly give you an opinion. I absolutely love MMIII and its music, so I hope that might be of some use to you. I'll be honest, the first time I listened, I felt that the beginning was a bit drawn out. As the instruments were first layered on, I tried to hear a melody, and sat there thinking to myself that either a)I was an embarrassment to Mega Man fans everywhere for not recognizing the theme, or b)It was so heavily modified that the theme was not discernible. Finally, after about a minute and a half of listening, the theme came in, but I felt that the layered instruments blocked it out a bit too much. However, when the noise of all the instruments died out (I loved how you faded to nothingness), and the theme itself kicked in on its own, a bit more calmly on the stringed instruments (with some nice harmony built upon them immediately after), I truly began to appreciate the contrast you had put in place. The huge, layered crescendo running through the first couple of minutes of the ReMix made a lot of sense at that point, and I commend you for pulling it all off so well. There are many more nice things running throughout the piece, and I particularly like the great number of slightly different incarnations of the main theme, throughout, with the differences in speed and dynamics making each one unique in its own way. The beat is strong throughout, and the dynamic contrast is something that, although I didn't fully appreciate it at first, serves as a huge highlight in this nice piece you've created. The next time I listened, I actually liked the extensive nature of the introductory sequence, now that I knew that the theme actually did come in, and was completely recognizable. It made more sense going with the dynamic contrast I discovered later in the first listening, and I would not suggest really changing anything at all. I didn't like it so much at first, but your creation quickly grew on me, and I feel it has a good chance of getting through the judging panel if you submit it. Anyway, I hope this helps, and good luck on getting your ReMix accepted
