For all we know, VI might be next :) This is exciting though, I'm very happy to hear this. It's about freakin' time.

All hail the jazz flute!! Yeah, everything that Joe touched on this album was gold. Glad to see this posted.

Hello,
Jeremy definitely writes some awesome string lines and sometimes you don't even hear them. I'm posting this string demo because this section will be overtaken by the brass and I thought you would all like to hear it.

Enjoy.

Hello,
Update 04/28/2015
I've got another minute or so sampled, it's coming along quite nicely. The strings are sounding very nice especially. I'm still working on the timing of the legato horns in the beginning. I can't seem to get it perfect like I want it. Thanks for your continued support and I will be posting another demo soon.
Regards,

Derek or Jeremy,
I noticed that there is a song on Jeremy's site already called "A Falcon, A Whale, and An Unknown Land" Am I correct that it will basically be the same as the last one?
The demo sounds good so far.
Thank you,
Yes it will be based off of that title and with the same name. Jeremy and I will be adding/changing a few things. Adding some solo instrumentalists, redoing some progressions, changing what instruments do what and where, etc.

Hello Friends,
Well it's been awhile since my last update but I wanted to let you all know that I've purchased a new DAW and am back to work on this amazing piece of music. I have the first demo I'd like to share with you. Please feel free to comment, suggest, anything you wish.
Thanks for listening,

Exciting news, I just ordered my new DAW (I'll post picturies when I receive it and put it together) This new machine will allow me to orchestrate everything live, with a full orchestral pallet. I'm so pumped about this, looking forward to what I'll be able to create with it. Falcon, Whale will resume soon!!!

I enjoyed this. Orchestration good, really good mixing considering EWQL Gold 16 bit samples (nice string runs). I liked the choir also, EWQL Symphonic/VOTA?

Okay so this week I'm still working on violins (tricky tricky tricky) On a good note my friend and fellow musician Joe Zieja (XPRTNovice) has recorded the clarinet passages for Falcon and they sound great. I'm now mastering them and entering them into the mix. Thank you Joe!

I liked the dynamics. The break down in the middle of the piece was beautiful. I agree with the judges that the brass and string samples sounded a bit "synthy" and a tad repetitive with the percussion; But overall a win. The style felt like a movie trailer so if that is what you're going for then you did well. Welcome to OCR and thank you for this piece. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.

I just integrated the solo violin parts into the mix featuring Jeff Ball (some1namedjeff). Sounds great! Still working on violins and violas.

I would like to announce that Jeremy Robson and I have started work on a remake of his arrangement "A Falcon, A Whale, And An Unknown Land". At 10:54 in length this piece features airship/overworld themes from Final Fantasy IV, VI, and VII. We're also very pleased that this remake will feature several solo artists which will make the piece more exciting and realistic. If you would like to hear the old version please go here:

Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

Wow, that was quite a ride. Totally took me back to the days when this game was a daily play for me. F'ing awesome mix, hats off to Mr. Blondel and thanks for the memories

Impressive Sax work Mr. Zieja. I thought I was listening to Spyro Gyra for a minute

I've heard a handful of bLiNd's music and I can't say I'm a fan, but this has got to be some of the sweetest EDM I've ever heard. When that beat really comes in, the song just gets this giant and epic sound that can only be described as freaking awesome. When the lead synth comes in with the melody, it just rips up like a madman. I hate dancing, but I just had to get up and move to this one. Gold.
I agree, this has been on my playlist for a long time. It never gets old

I wouldn't say it was better than Avengers but it was definitely on the same level. A lot happened in that movie and it was exciting throughout. I really enjoyed it as Capt. America is awesome for me.

I feel like I'm listening to the Flamenco dancer piece on River Dance. Awesome sauce! I'm a sucker for spanish guitar so I really enjoyed this. Hats off to Joe, he's a multi-versed machine man

One of these years I'll make it out to this event. Meet all you guys I've been talking to over the past 7 years

I like this piece. It's raw which I like in heavier music. I like the style of drums you guys used as well, very fitting. Nice job!

Yeah, Joe played the sh!t out of that clarinet, I almost wet myself Really great tune, I listen to it everyday, it's on my "drive home from work" mix

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with this piece. I don't logon to OCR much anymore but I was always a fan of Derek and Jeremy's pieces. I want to also shout out to all the remixers involved in the project, as a whole it is a true work of art. I particularly loved Trauermarsch though as I'm a huge fan of Mahler
Bravo Derek and Jeremy!!
Laura
Wow, Laura, I haven't heard from you in years! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on our work. I hope life is treating you well!!
