  1. Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah it's a little repetitive - I might take the second verse and do a key change, or make the flutes a little different. Overall I'm glad that my problems lie with the tune itself and not the production, as nearly everything I've made up to this point had issues with the EQ and Soundfonts sounding like an overblown Midi. Here's a link to the source track. It's from KDL1 for the Gameboy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq_TLgmVZnk I will put in a little more variation, then post the update!
  2. I've been trying to make remixes for a while not but struggled mainly with EQ. Anyway, here's a WIP of Castle Lololo's stage in KDL1 (or Dynablade's theme in KAR, since they're basically the same song) called Spirit Wing. The style is heavily based on the group Ah-nee-mah. It's a tribal/new age song, and was was made with Soundfonts. It feels like the remix is missing something, but I'm not sure what. Critique would be welcome! The mix is here: http://www.tindeck.com/listen/ejmx
  3. Posting several new remixes as the advice here has helped me greatly improve on previous work. These are all done in FL Studio 6. I have self critiqued them with what seemed to be problems, but any other tips or criticisms are welcome! "Alone in The Cold" - Kirby's Dreamland 2\3 Ending 'Winter' Remix http://www.divshare.com/download/4394737-146 This piece starts off slow and goes from the KDL2 "sad" ending to the KDL3 "Happy ending", ending with a mix of Green Greens. The jingle bells come in at about 0.23. The strings in the very beginning sound weird to me - they were originally Tremolos but Slow Strings seemed better. The Piattis need way more reverb and could possibly be less loud in some spots. -- "Into the Sunset" - Kirby Super Star "Revenge of Meta Knight" Ending Remix http://www.divshare.com/download/4350721-e4c This was inspired by old ballads from the 70s but still sticks pretty close to the original. I had a lot of fun with the percussion! I feel that it gets a little sloppy towards the end, starting when the organ begins to escalate at 1:43. when it goes into a sort of Green Greens inspired tune and begins to rise, eventually stopping an octave higher.
  4. Hello. This is just a WIP that I've been doing based on the Halfmoon theme from Kirby Super Star, in Revenge of Meta Knight\Milky Way Wishes. It was done with free soundfonts in FL6. Some instruments (the trumpets in the 5 note introduction, the choir, the string lead at 1:03) sound "fake" - this could be due to me using low quality soundfonts, or not enough effects. Any suggestions\criticism would be greatly appreciated! http://www.divshare.com/download/4028532-473
  5. Hello! This is my first post. I'm trying to be a remixer, mainly of Kirby tunes since it's my favorite console series. The problem is that I'm still relatively new to FL. For example, one of these mixes was constructed entirely on one pattern The main problem with my own mixes is that I like to work with things like piano, choir and strings in an attempt to make instrumentals. However, nearly all of the instruments - especially the choir - sound a bit "fake" and unnatural. The end result sounds more like a souped up MIDI. Here are two WIPs: "Cloud 9" ('Above the Clouds/Butter Buildings' from K64): http://www.divshare.com/download/2263456-c28 "Tusk's Castle" (Tusk from KI Gold mixed with Coo's Theme and Dark Castle from Kirby's Dreamland 2): http://www.divshare.com/download/2379476-717 Any advice on how to make them sound better would be greatly appreciated.
