That doesn't completly make sense, but I think you're making the mistake of saying jazz and blues are the same thing.
I wouldn't say that they grew up together. I mean, blues started way before jazz. Granted, I'm not big on Jazz but isn't Louis Armstrong one of the first Jazz guys. Blues started back in the early 1900's and I'm pretty sure Louis Armstrong is like a 1940's musician. I'd say Jazz is more like what rock grew up with. They're kind of like Blue's babies.Either way, I still think that it's not bluesy, it may be a twelve bar blues but the rythm isn't as strict as blues should be. It's kind of like Jazz-Blues fusion.
