Haven't even named it it's so new. Just started working on this after finishing my Gears of War 2 remix (fingers crossed the judges will like it, my first remix in about 8 years). My first tendency for most mixes is to load a string section and rely on it quite a bit, dunno about doing that for this one. But who knows, maybe it'll really work.

Any particular genre your looking for? 'Cause I was thinking of tackling something from this series myself, haven't given much thought to it yet.
-
What DAW are you using? almost sounds like FL. but your levels are off a bit, your kick could have more depth to it, and maybe more to the hat, I'd fill in the breaks if I were going with that genre. The synths were a little basic, but in a Techno/Trance genre most things stay basic. The arrangement was good though, everything sounded like it was where it should be, and it's definitely a good start.

I'd suggest maybe taking the hat out of the intro and have a piano intro. Maybe more rhythm to the piano to expand it a little more, and again I'd put that same addition to the 1:55 mark too. The overall mix is done very nicely, a nice chill jazz feel to it, nice work with the solo at the 2:40 mark, maybe adjust the sound so almost more Hammond B3 sounding, that would really add to the overall jazz sound. The arrangement is pretty good though, aside from the intro.

Been working this one for a while and I'd love to hear what everyone thinks

P.S. I am really wanting to change my name too, so if any anyone has some good suggestions I'd appreciate that too. I have no plans to continue with Trance and I don't really want to be limited with Canada

$500's a little more then I was hoping, if I was gunna spend anything near that I'd go for the $200 Session Strings, that sounds sick
-
If there is an orchestration vst that makes it into an orchestration that would be awesome and I'd almost pay anything for that, but no, I am looking for some really good sounds.
I'm not using FL, or haven't for almost 5 years now, I'm using Sonar. And I was never really too impressed with the sounds FL had stock

I've been looking around trying to find some really descent Orchestration plug-ins or soundfonts, preferably free, I've found Syntheway Strings and Session Strings, both aren't free and my finances don't really support them right now, does anyone haveany good suggestions?

Ya, I'm using Chromeplus
That's awesome, thanks

I've not been around here for a while and now that I'm back I want to download a bunch of awesome remixes I've missed over the years and every time I go to download all I get is it playing in a new window and can't seem to download. What's up with that?
-
damn fine, good sound to it
-
man, this song kicks @$$, I didn't even realise where it was from in the game right away, and even still it really sounds like an awsome original trance song
-
Oh man, I was starting a remix of this song a little while ago and had a very similar idea, but I doubt it would have turned out as good as this, very VERY nice

Who said it was?
Well...
Great brass samplesthey ARE samples?! Wow...i had entertained the possibility cuz i thought there were a couple times the sax coulda slurred some notes instead of it being so staccatothat doesn't mean they were specifically speaking of the sax as being a brass instrument, there are brass in this song you know?
-
Sax isn't brass.

dude!!! this kicks some serious ass, I love the Hitler quotes used throughout the song, it really makes it that much better as you seem to have meant it, to keep the sad feeling of war, it is, man, just really REALLY admirable that you captured the seriousness of a the war in a VG Remix
-
HOLEY SHIT MAN!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS , that's one kick ass song, the hole thing , I don't think I'll listen to anything else for a long LONG time.
I really can't get enough of the extremely sweet sax solo in the middle
-
I thought it was pretty good, I only wish it was a lot longer.
-
this is a great mix, I love that game a lot. But the only problem I can find (Not listening through headphones so I didn't really notice the pan) is at 1:28, the instrument there doesn't seem to fit, it kinda sounds like a bad Sax sound. Other then that it's a really good remix.
-
I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I relly envy you for having suck kick @$$ samples, I have no money at all to afford samples like that, saying that I have bill after bill after bill to pay, and my recent payment for a new kick @$$ computer and a Gamecube, ok, back to my review, I love it, and this is simply the quality I wish I had when I made my Tetris remix.

I've always loved djpretzels stuff and this is no exception, I've never even bothered with any other FF remixes but think I might just start lookin' into them. I feel that the beginning sounds a LOT like the COPS theme, and then the ending isn't very much, it just kinda ends unexpectedly, he could have maybe faded it out or something, it just ends too abrupt. I still love it and can't wait for his next.

Even though it seems like taking a chance putting those kind of synths in a jazzy song it really worked well, I just love DJP's style and the way he uses the melody of good songs and puts them in a completely new genre. This is an excellent example of a great remix, it has a completely new sound to it.

I don't normally download Megaman remixs because I found a lot of them were too close to the original, I swear I can't put a finger on where this was from in the game either. I love it and I love your style.

This is a great remix of one of the best Mario songs. I remember listening to some of your earlier work and I think you made a great breakthrough along the way and I can't wait to hear what you do next.

Thanks, I haven't really done anything to it since, mostly 'cause I don't want to mess it up by going the wrong way with it, but I'm getting pretty antsy to hear more
