  1. hmm interesting redux, it does sound alot better yet still sticks to the original prototype which I like (didn't go off in a wierd direction on me lol). I love that you changed the tech beat to an instrumental, best rework done is in that part but I guess its a flute or something...seems the timing for it is a lil off so it doesn't fit too well and the suddent loud piano hits then to soft and back to hard do not fit well at the end, needs to be a lil consistant cause I am hearing loud notes then to soft and back.

  2. its really good, as for OC standards? I think it would pass ^.^ but thats just me. Now complements aside, I love how you have arranged this but I would say you need to start the music alot sooner seeing waiting for almost 10 seconds for any sound may drive alot of people mad lol. Also if your going with a Clint Eastwood thing, I would suggest make this alot more westernized seeing it feels more classical and nothing you would directly find in any films of the sort. Now I will say that this has honestly moved from the western side to more of a movie-esque feel, which for MGS is a great thing. So just keep this up and improve on it just a little, not a whole lot, seeing even though it may not have gone the way it was intended, it sure has went in a direction thats really good ^.^, all I suggest is wait for more feedback before really improving on it too.

EDIT: oh one thing I forgot to mention, as far as this being to the standards...you picked a hard song to really be in that area seeing if you stray from the theme too much, it sounds nothing like the theme...and well no matter how or what you do, the song will still sound un-original to an extent seeing how this theme goes lol. So you do have the spark of originality honestly in this, just needs a little more, so you could add that for the ending?

  3. OH SNAP! lol wow I really love the redux of this, truely shows how far you have come on making this beautiful number. As far as anything that needs changed....I would have to say nothing for once, its got the great beat..the levels are nice, everything is organized...wow just wow

  4. hmmm I would suggest what Glitch said, do lower the choir but also towards the end, if you can, add a trumpet to give it that big flair and bite that this needs seeing it is literally almost the exact to what the game had, which can be good but also a bad thing seeing we want to here better interpretations of the game, not the game itself cause really if we wanted that we would go and just listen to the chip-tune lol

  5. I would love to hear a longer one...make a Halo trilogy with this (the main theme from one, find something from 2, and end it with something from 3) and for a guitar, try the acoustic and see how it sounds ^.^. You do not have to stick directly to Halo either, you could..and I am just throwing this out there, but add like some MGS to it? make it feel like Snake is fighting Master Chief (oh God the fanboys will kill me now) anyways yeah thats something that could work out, but you would have to be careful with it lol

  6. Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'll have to try to make it more structured speed-wise. The tempo never literally changes, but I know what you mean. However, I'm not quite sure what you mean by instrument versus MIDI. I think I'm missing the exact meaning of MIDI. I've always thought it was just a file which used computer-generated sounds, but I've heard it used in so many ways, I just don't know what to think, haha. Would you prefer that I used a recorded beat instead of programming it?

I honestly wasn't thinking of being compared to Marty O' Donnel when I made this, but I guess now that I think about it, that probably should have been obvious. So since he's a very talented musician for an overwhelmingly successful game, I can definitely see how the judging may be particularly strict for this one.

what I mean by the MIDI sound I mean by like it sounded more like something from the old final fantasy games with the "bit" like sound...the new arrangement is really nice and a little cleaner..one advice I think would be nice is to highten the vocal-like sound gradually as it is getting closer and closer to the climax of it. Another would be to have a little stronger drum beat to it (not faster or anything, just something like you would hear in an orchestra rather than something found in a marching band)..and finally when making the ending of this..drop the climax at 2:50 with a gradual stop instead of a cut off, and for that little area thats there at the end of silence, add in only the vocals or say like a guitar of the vocals for the main end

  7. hmmmm....they can be strict at times, and if its a song like this that relates to halo well then it will be judged strictly too. With that being said, the song has a nice beat but would love to hear more of an instrument beat rather than a MIDI beat to it, but thats just me. The beginning though, it needs a little cleaning up cause its too spuratic from fast to slow then fast again...granted the beginning theme of Halo started slow, this kinda starts, stops, speeds up, and slows down..but overall? its a nice...well to say very nice seeing its your first one so keep it up

  8. I do like this, love the nature effects that were put into it too. The only thing I didn't care for was around 0:35 where it transitions to the full melody..it was cut off a little too soon and it happens again around 1:15, well basically anywhere the melody ends really, that ending needed to be strung out just a tad longer. Felt like the song was being rushed along rather than a layed-back feel that I first felt with this. Overall? I love what you did with it, it just needs to be cleaned up just a little bit in those areas then your fine ^.^

  9. wow another great one, I love this one too, it reminds me of if LttP was a cartoon movie, something you would hear while Link was on his journey in that area. This one seems without flaws at first, but listening more into it....ok no there are still none that I can hear. Its the right mellow sound that complements the flute in the game, really up-beat and nice ^.^ well done again

  10. hmmm, as for what your going for? I was not sure, but I will say this, its very well made and very peaceful..almost reminds me something from Fable at the first then I heard the LoZ theme in it. I can't wait till this is done to hear it in its entirity.

as for my tastes, it would be nice to have a violin in there say for the solo/classical part in it and some vocals to go along with the light spirit theme, but thats just my opinion. I get this nice vibe from it, feels moving and I can picture LoZ:TP kind of graphics with this as if Link was walking along a hill side with Epona and its becoming sunrise as he returns to Hyrule LOL
