  1. I found this really cool website that lets you drag a midi onto it and it shows a 3d virtual piano with falling blocks. You can move it around. But the best thing is it seems to translate all midis into piano arrangements. I was trying it out with some ffx midis and was good fun. I wanted to let people know before the site disappears. https://qiao.github.io/euphony/
  2. Subjective analysis of Uematsu's To Zanarkand in E minor.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJatmYN3hGw Note changes at 0:57 down to F# left hand instead of up to B, D. I took the MP3 from the soundtrack and put it through Amazing MIDI than viewed the MIDI in Synthesia, the notes that came out were slightly different to the official sheet music. I doubt there was much error as it kept the majority of the piece as the usual notes. I played it with the new notes and it sounds more accurate. This raises the question was the Nobuo Uematsu's original arrangement changed slightly by Masashi Hamauzu for the sheet music book? Why do many To Zanarkand versions such as Dissidia, Distant Worlds, Black Mages, Itadaki, FFX Chips all have these notes and not released sheet music.
  4. Just TWO WEEKS of voting left! If you want to help video game music make a splash in the annual Classic FM Hall of Fame again: 1: Head to http://halloffame.classicfm.com/2014/vote/ 2: Vote for your three favourite ORCHESTRAL video game scores! If you're voting for an individual piece try to mention the game name as well as this is what your vote will count towards. Easy! Don't forget this year many scores are lumped together into one entry, including last year's #3 (Final Fantasy Series, Nobuo Uematsu) and #5 (Elder Scrolls Series, Jeremy Soule).

  6. can you please provide some examples of his violin, piano, orchestra. technical, chromatic, atonal and texture. i suppose his most inventive works is what i mean.
  7. Last year Aerith's Theme achieved 16th in the hard-fought top 300 Classic FM Hall of Fame. Nobuo Uematsu's Aeris Theme beat the pants off Adagio for Strings, 1812 overture, the Four Seasons and others. Go to: The Hall of Fame - The Best Classical Music of All Times and vote for you three favorite bits of orchestral video games music. Pieces have to be orchestral to count. Use one of your votes for ''Aerith's Theme'' as this will garantee something makes it in the chart. https://www.facebook.com/ClassicVGMusic @ClassicVGMusic
  8. Classical music is a great choice for wedding songs. Though there are thousands upon thousands of different songs to sort though. Here are some suggestions for every part of the wedding ceremony. PRELUDE Penelo's Theme - Hitoshi Sakimoto Great Fairy's Fountain Theme - Koji Kondo Love Grows - Nobuo Uematsu Ronfaure - Nobuo Uematsu PROCESSIONAL Dearly Beloved - Yoko Shimomura Theme of Love - Nobuo Uematsu RECESSIONAL Overture - Koichi Sugiyama Victory Fanfare - Nobuo Uematsu Light of Blessing ~ A Letter - Nobuo Uematsu
  9. ''UK radio station Classic FM’s “Hall of Fame” runs a 300-strong list of the finest compositions as voted by the general public every year, but it doesn’t seem an orchestral video game theme has ever made it into the semi-prestigious collection: and that’s what this movement is trying to fix. Co-ordinated primarily through Facebook and Twitter, a gaming group is making efforts to push Nobuo Uematsu’s “Aerith’s Theme” from cult classic Final Fantasy VII into the Hall of Fame....... (full article)'' I would have chosen One-Winged Angel but it looks like Aerith’s Theme was the choice. Everyone has to choose Aerith’s Theme so there is more of a chance of anything getting through. You actually have 3 choices (vote here). Mine are: Nobuo Uematsu - Aerith’s Theme (listen to it )Nobuo Uematsu - One-Winged Angel Nobuo Uematsu - Opera Maria and Draco Show support by adding FB and Twiter: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Get-Video-Games-Music-into-the-Classic-FM-Hall-of-Fame/246123792126219?sk=wall Twitter
  10. I have been listening to ''100 best film classics'' and 100 best opera, beethoven, concertos. and so on. I also noticed in a Classical Music forum they had top 200, 100 and 50 lists. I would like to put together a ''100 Greatest Video Game Music for Orchestra''. So that means any VGM for orchestra from soundtracks or albums. I will no doubt miss a lot out if it was up to me. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The order of he tracks doesn't matter it's just 100 greatest. I hope people can use this list as a quick way to hear the greatest vgm if they are new to it or like classical music and film music.
