    ah ok, now I understand

    I usually use two different setups for rhythm guitars, a "cutting" incisive one I use for more metal pieces with riffs etc, and the second one which is more "cremy" - hardrock-ish... I choose the second one because this piece has just power chords and a normal palm-muting rhythmic.

    Also I'm not used to put keyboards on rhythm guitars, but this time I did... listening to the track without keyboards, guitars are clearer... maybe some eq can help

    PS. I'm a big Symphony X fan :D

    About the repetition: the original piece is less than 1 min long looping forever, I tried to change things here and there (drums, harmonization...) and adding a very simple solo etc.

    Usually for my own arrangements/music I add bridges/interludes and more complex solo sections. This was a request from a friend who wanted to ear a metal version of the piece, and since I really liked the game and the soundtrack I quickly did this short arrangement... anyway yes, it could be expanded more.

    Rhythm guitars are double tracked, yes. What do you mean when you say "buried"?

    I usually don't like my finished tracks, I always found something that bothers me, but frankly not this time...

    I like how the arpeggios section came out, it doesn't sound dirty to me. I used a very low crunch overdrive in that section not to screw up everything with distortion. As for delay/reverb I tryed to emulate the effect of the original track.

    Oh yes, I should practice more, I agree on that

    Thank you for the suggestions too, I've not studio headphones/speakers, I use mid-budget headphones, so I can't hear everything perfectly.

    About comments: I don't know why noone see/comment my videos (I'm talking about youtube, not this forum), I really put myself in doing this arrangements, mixing, video etc. Anyway Thanks again :)

    I know there are a few professional software for that, but they are 30-40 gb, I mean, my pc can't stand that :grin: With this FF7 medley it has shut down at least 25 times... :S

    I use Korg M1 keyboard module for extra sounds...

    what should I use to get a more realistic sound? thanks

    Great stuff! I can only imagine how long it must have taken... =)

    I know I might be asking too much, if I am please tell me. Since you did make a "Heart of Fire" remix and it's still one of my all time favorite Castlevania remixes. I would really like to ask you to make an "Out of Time" remix, since there are very few remixes of that song and even fewer good ones. I won't ask for any other songs after this.

    I have a long list of tracks I'd like to do, actually I'm not accepting requests anymore because I'm full.. you know. Anyway I'll make that for you since you asked me before and always support my channel ;) (but probably I'll make audio only, no video)

    The only thing I would say is that your guitar and arranging work is so good that I would have liked to hear some better orchestral sampling behind it, just something that sounded more realistic, but I understand everyone has constraints when it comes to that sort of thing.

    I love the game, one of my all time favourites.

    I saw so many final fantasy 7 guitar covers on youtube,

    so I decided to arrange and cover unusual (or less known, maybe) tracks.

    This is my first medley, huge work for me, really,

    but also very satisfying and I like the result,

    I hope you like it too!

    Thanks for all the advices!

    I fixed many things (delay issues, bass, some keyboard etc) and uploaded the video (I have a deadline, unfortunately I can't spend too much time on a single piece).

    I don't know if it is some youtube bug or a temporary problem with my pc or something, but I hear a lot of clipping and noise on the youtube video and in all my youtube video list and other videos... what could be the problem??

    I'm really only going to mention production issues for now. The drums are really distant and have a ton of reverb (and the recording is kind of low quality), and the guitars sound good but lacking in high frequencies. Also, that supersaw sound at the beginning has the unfortunate problem of having a very noticeable attack because of the supersaw-ness, and they are kind of muddy sounding.

    You're not using Superwave P8, are you?

    For drums I used EZdrummer, No reverb added, I tried to make it sound the most dry possible, I added little reverb to the master track though.

    About guitars: there are 4 guitars going in the mix, I had to cut frequencies here and there, but I guess the keyboard in the back covers too much frequencies... could be this the problem?

    I used Korg M1 for the ssaw.

    Sorry I'm not giving any critique on this, yet, but I would like to say that this is pretty fucking awesome. There's a lot of sweet licks in this, some nice guitar work in this, and the source is fucking great.

    I'm waiting to see Willrock in this thread - this is like one of his favorite sources ever.
