So, how did we describe this game again? A mix of Minecrack, Methroid, and Zelctasy?
Too addictive.
its like minecraft... in that you dig to build. (you build new tools out of better materials, which makes them do more damage and lets them work faster.)
you dont actually have to dig to explore caves though, you can actually find them relatively easy on the surface(givin that its 2d). caves are filled with monsters and pots(with items in them) and treasure chests (with items in them). oh there are also floating islands with special items and stuff on em.
you've got npcs that you can build houses to make em stay in "town"(i use that word loosely) guide, merchant, nurse, arms dealer, etc.)
youve got a random dungeon on each world, and an underground jungle.
corrupted lands that have shadow orbs you break to find rare items and summon bosses/meteors.
with a little bit of Wow tier gear thrown in. everything after gold gives you set bonuses.
oh, god bless the grappling hook.

New Super Mario Bros for the DS was pretty terrible.
Each stage was the same, only different backgrounds. All the levels were just "keep going right" which got boring fast.
Just saying.
*facepalm* keep going right? that is all its ever been. actually, what if they made him go left! maybe the world would end. XD

@Arek i think the price is between 30 to 40 (40 being those much bigger name games, like SSF4) my wallet wont be liking me much either

That's what the whitelist is for. Just don't start a massive community TNT-fest near your base and you should be fine.

im all for the implementation of mobs/creepers. (your fine in the day) good lighting in your constructions does wonders for creeper stopping... im far more worried about skeletons.
heck, its never even night time on the server anymore (unless that mod got taken off)

Both: Well I guess well have to agree to disagree because apparently my expectations are too high or others are just way too low. Again my definition of Beta (when theres an Alpha phase) would be "done but needs extensive testing to find bugs" not "everything is still not done, and things that are here are broke", etc. But alas, these conversations just wind up "ME: well thats broken" "others: NO THATS OKAY AND YOU ARE DUMB" heh

The only one flaming is The Author really. Apparently to him anybody who thinks the game needs more time in alpha is an idiotic moron cry baby who should die.

lol good dont start playing WoW (however... until you've had experience with them in beta's and bug fixes and content changes... you will have no idea how mild this whole thing is)
No I'm not kidding. I can't take in what The Author says because he is so aggressive about it and that is what stuck out to me the most about his posts. If he had been civil about it, I could have digested what he said, but instead all he has done is make everyone all defensive. You can't get any conversation flowing forward when you do things like that because now everything will just go in a circle argument. In the end, everyone will just end up tired and frustrated.If he feels the game is fine as it is GOOD, I accept that, but I will have my opinion on the matter and he certainly doesn't have to accept it. Now let's move on with our lives and just accept that people feel differently about things. We can either move this conversation forward or do a circle bicker jerk and get no where.

Anyways, people are just suggesting the game stay in Alpha for a little longer, there's no need to go ape about it. No one is denying you your enjoyment of vanilla Minecraft.
What does anyone have to lose anyways? We all purchased the client in alpha and we all get the perks of that, so why is it so horrible that some people feel it should be in alpha a bit longer? What exactly does this deprive any of you of?
your kidding right? The Author has had the most clearly put arguments (and counter arguments) during this whole flame war (definately a flame war, we go for several days with nearly no posts then we get this started, i go to work and come home and we have over 3 pages of new posts. all about this stupid fight)
the only thing we are entitled to is a finished product (when ever that happens. hopefully before christmas 2011. all this complaining isnt doing anyone any good (unless you guys are actually sending notch a lot of feedback?)... but at least no one is doing a DOS attack about this like with the updating in october.
((this whole thing is making me wonder if any of you have any experience with World of Warcraft) the forums there go thru these fights (on even a bigger scale) every single patch just because of small class changes, not even regarding bigger things))

He's trying to reconstruct the nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh in measureless days behind history by the vast, loathsome shapes that seeped down from the dark stars. There would lay great Creeper and his hordes, hidden in green, slimy, mossy vaults.
what? dirt castles are just easier to build than sand castles in this game hands down.

Incidentally, is anyone having issues with cloth blocks disappearing? The cloth on top of that keep on disappearing after a while.
hmm, that is weird, none of my cloth from my cloth tower has dissapeared yet/ever. although whats happening to your cloth could have been caused by all the lava (in theory)

I'm actually okay with most of this.
Snivy = Snake or Snide + Ivy. Smugleaf is the best obviously, but this is a decent alternative.
Tepig = Tepid Pig. For a first evo, not bad.
Oshawott = Canadian Otter. Awesome.
I have no idea why they renamed Isshu into Unova, they've never renamed regions before. I'm also not too fond of it either.
i love oshawott (say it, Revolver Oshawott) and id nickname Snivy Smugleaf anyway. so no harm no fowl XD
it is a bit unseddling about the region name change (did kanto have a name in the original. like did i miss something in the manual when i was like 9 with my bad reading skills
