  1. Uhm, it sounds okay, but it's a little repetive, conversative and simple. I suppose it's looped? It definitely needs a lot more dynamics, emotion, variety and overal interpretation. But you've got the basics covered.

Fair call - but it's a cover, not an arrangement, so it's probably going to be conservative by definition. The EWI tracks aren't looped, but the vocal percussion is (every 30 seconds-ish). Thanks for listening!

  2. Thanks mate, I appreciate you listening. The EWI is an instrument I'm still struggling to find a proper home for - multitrack covers at least sound texturally cohesive but it's difficult to make a convincing mix with anything else. I'd really love to make some arrangements that do a bit more than cover source material, but on the other hand, I have a great respect for the way people like Smooth McGroove are able to venerate the source material by presenting it verbatim (albeit with more expression!).

  3. Hi everyone,

I just finished putting together a multitracked recording of the 'Village' theme from SNES SimCity, using EWIs (Electronic Wind Instruments). This isn't a remix in the same sense that most of tracks on these forums and site are, since it's just a straight transcription from the original source SPC, but I'm sure some people here might find it interesting. I would welcome any comments or feedback!

    It is on youtube here:

    Thanks for listening!

  4. Hi!

I've been producing a few transcriptions of 8-bit tunes which I record on the EWI (Electric Wind Instrument) as multitracks. While these are video game related, I thought it most appropriate to post them in the originals section of the forums as they're not remixes, just straight transcriptions of the original source material. Here are several:

    Marble Madness (NES) 'Beginner' -

    Ghosts 'n Goblins (NES) 'Level 1' -

    Tetris (Gameboy) 'Theme A' -

While it's not a multitrack, I've also done a rendition of the Ballad of the Windfish from Link's Awakening:

I would love to hear what people think of these, or if anyone has any advice on helping to reach a larger audience.

    Thanks!

  5. I found it odd that M.Bison in streetfighter was hardly as hard as blanka on 8 stars. I mean blank could could move anyway practically invincibly whenever he wants, so whenever you tried to do anything the game would just say 'Nah, I don't think so" and he'd slog you in the head. Bitch.

  6. I love this, the overpowering guitar chords are really fun and the ska type takeover later on shows some very funky effects. A very listenable mix. I'd give it probably9.5\10 because I really loved the heavy hitting but nice rhythms of the chord patterns in the first half, which are reminiscent of some of the tracks out of sonic adventure 2. Very nice, and as DJP put it, the first half does sound a lot like greenday, don't agree with the Frank Sinatra bit though :)
