  1. I'm willing to give up my dibs on the Metal Black position; I'm about to start training for a new job next week and some serious tech issues have set me back a bit and I've become incredibly backed up with work as a result. It's unfortunate, but I can't keep saying "sorry, i'll make the next deadline though!" and sitting on dibs when someone else who might want to remix a tune from Metal Black and actually has the time to do it could take the slot instead.

It's not a total waste though; I did manage to get something done for The House Of The Dead in the end, and a couple of months on I'm still fairly happy with it and am alright with it going on the album as-is. Should that change, I may go in for tweaks or a rewrite sometime before the final submission deadline, but I'm fairly sure it isn't going to come to that.

  3. I apologise for not able to make the November deadline; I've been completely swamped with work at the moment (right about the same time I'm in a bit of a creative slump, typically :P), and I should've notified you sooner that I might not be able to make it. I should be able to make the next deadline though, as my workload eases off literally the day after Christmas, so I should have something for you not long after.

  4. Argh, man. I shouldn't do this because i really shouldn't be taking on any more work than i have already got on my plate ...

..but i'm considering taking the Saturn Bomberman track, finding another MC to join me on this tune here -

I just imagine us portraying White and Black Bombermen and doing some old skool thing here.

Just throwing the idea around right now. Not sure if i should do it or not, i just want to make sure this project has plenty of material so it passes approvals. I'd be gutted if the 20th Anniversary comes around and we don't celebrate it, ya know? :(

If you need help with track production to help ease the workflow, I'm happy to lend a helping hand if you need it DiGi.

  5. Hey Dave, what's the stance on a remixer taking on more then one track? I just wanted to ask, ask was thinking of doing a Metal Black remix as well if it's possible. If you'd rather keep it to just one track per remixer for fairness, then I understand.

Ok so who wants to collab with me on a track from Sonic R? I may stick some cameo appearances of X-Treme and 3D Blast tunes in there, if that's legal.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but when all the Sonic R stuff is vocal, you can't just go and get rid of it and do an instrumental... I mean you can, but that's no fun. ^_^

Depends on what you had in mind, but I'd be willing to help you if you need it. c: So what do you have in mind?

  6. Just tossing my slightly unrelated two cents in the matter by saying that I do see where you're coming from, G-Mixer, but honestly I'm glad the one-game-per-series restriction is in place. Sonic 3D and Sonic R both have some stellar tunes (dodgy singing in the SR tracks aside), and the leaked Sinic X-Treme songs are also pretty boss and I would love to hear them remixed, but even these days there's still something of a "the only noteable music in a sega made game or on a sega made console is the music from the sonic games" mentality in the pockets and corners of the Internet. It isn't as prevelant as it once was, but a Sega Saturn remix album with very little Sonic tunes on it might go a long way to getting people interested in soundtracks from the other great games on the Saturn.

Either way, it's not down to me what goes where. That's just what I think. This could honestly be a 20 track album dedicated to remixing nothing but Can You Feel The Sunshine and my only real complaint would be "pity nobody could find the original vocalist". Maybe.
