  1. There were originally 16 tracks, however one of the artists pulled his two tracks from the project after he found out that they wouldn't be accepted to OCR due to the copyright issues regarding tracks based on actual rock songs.

There was a lot of work involved, but it was mostly a song-by-song thing, as there was little interest by most people in joining the project, and a lot of the time was spent by myself going "want to do a doom 2 remix?" to everyone on OCR.

Ah, I see. So that's why it took so long. I didn't know that many of the songs were not 'original' songs, but remixed rock songs of the time....Wow...

No wonder the Doom albums took such a long time to come out.....

  2. I was wondering, why is this not a whole album? It's awesome as-is, no doubt.

But I was wondering why this isn't a two disc album, maybe multiple mixes or different artists doing the same songs? That would be kickass.

But then there's the whole two and a half plus years. Kinda seems sad that it's *only* 14 tracks after so muchwork?

No matter, though, very awesome all around. Everyone did a great job!

  3. Hmm.....A little late, I suppose, but better than never.

I like the music, the mix, the arrangement. Very true to the source, I'd say.

But the vocals...don't get me wrong, they are good. Very slick. However, I am not a fan of rap and most hip-hop. Again, not to say they don't fit, or are bad in any way. I am just not into them as everyone else. Maybe it just takes a couple listens to get used to or something.

But overall, this is great. I wonder if AE will release an instrumental version, as the backing music sounds like it could stand on it's own without the vocals.

  4. I haven't listened to the whole thing, but this is AWESOME! When I get me some more money, I will send you something like $50! If you ever put out physical CDs, I want at LEAST one, signed, to JTD121!!!!

Keep up the awesometacular (it's a word in this case) work!

  5. Hey all,

Maybe a little late, but I want to say just how awesome this project is! Not all of it is to my liking, but I do like what has been done to the tracks. Especially Ice Cap. Not something I am used to (given it's fast nature), but awesome nonetheless!

I am seeding on the torrent right now, and siting at 23.524 share ratio, so keep downloadin'!

Also, DarkeSword, do you plan on finishing Sand Cafe? And any other tracks up and coming? How many tracks do you think you will allow to be in this one project? I mean, aside from the three discs worth already out there?

Keep up the good, awesome work everyone! :)

  6. I have been listening to this probably since I downloaded it, and have since rediscovered it after getting myself an iRiver H10 5GB.

My only qualms with this would probably have to be the length of the song(s) being ReMixed. I mean, I love the arrangement and all that good stuff; I just wish it were longer for some reason...4 minutes is awesome, and I know it's getting close to the 6MB limit....But still....I freakin' LOVE this mix either way!

N-JeKteD should make an extended version and put it somewhere....His personal page, maybe?

Whatever, this mix was goood, nay, freakin' spectacular! This is one of the few metal mixes I like, simply because it has no real lyrics...I hate most 'professional' metal outfits because of that.

    Keep up the good work!

  7. Hey all,

I was wondering, is this going to be an online-only release? Or are you going to do what OneUp Studios did and release it on a mastered CD set and all that good stuff?

We should have like, a special account, PayPal or otherwise, to do stuff like this. People donate, and then the guys running the show can use it to pay for mastering the CDs, getting the album art and all that good stuff, and then sell it to us OCers. I certainly wouldn't mind donating a bit here and there, and then buying the final product.

But great work on the site and the tracks that are there! Can't wait!

    -Josh
