  1. Do you know how to get around this if you have Fair Use? I had to do that for a video I did using a Dragonforce song. I had already given full credit to the artist in my video description but YouTube insisted it be blocked and removed the audio from my video. After responding to YouTube's claims that I was illegally posting the song with an excerpt from some document that explained the purpose of my video, they restored it.

Or you could just... you know... change the tuning of the song up or down a few keys.

  2. You mustn't! The Earth's magnetism cannot take it! You must be stopped cruel fiend!

Edit: Nah, but seriously... I just did it, and it sounds crazy cool with the mostly acoustic stuff in the beginning then just slowly turns into what hell must sound like halfway through as the Electric guitar solos start popping in.

I also tried the Best is Yet to Come from the original Metal Gear Solid soundtrack... nothing short of amazing when slow. Wow.

Also, Sniper Wolfs (Enclosure) is also really relaxing at 8x

  3. I have made a decision that affects me being able to fulfill any capacity as a moderator for possibly the whole next year and beyond - I will let this post on my personal blog reveal the details.

It has been a good ~3 1/2 years on the staff for OCR as a moderator, and I will be around for a few months yet, through the trials & tribulations at times that is now site history. What I have ahead of me will dwarf that, and I thank everyone in the community for that time, whether the interaction was positive or negative, each represents an experience that I will carry with me for life.

I hope to be involved with the community in the future still, but who knows what the future holds for me. At the least, I should still be here until December or January.

From an E-4 (soon E-5) in the Air Force, enjoy your time in the Marines. Hoorah!

  4. Ever heard of Painkiller? Sure you have. You know its fan-made but officially supported sequel-ish Painkiller: Overdose? Perhaps.

The bosses in this game are pretty easy. Their attacks are easy to avoid, and getting them trapped behind scenery so you can keep blasting away at them will little trouble isn't a tough task to accomplish. However, things get rather nasty at the end when you come up against the final boss.

I won't mention its name, as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't played it. Let's just say it's a familiar face. Anyway, this boss has a few attacks. Homing clouds of smoke-like stuff, fireballs, summoning up big nasty monsters that take a good number of hits to go down... all sorts of fun stuff. During its final phase, it also calls up fire columns that you need to be on the run constantly to avoid. However, when you're supposed to hurt it during that phase is left as a big mystery.

I won't say how you're supposed to hurt it, but I will say I must have lost a ridiculous number of times before it was sheer chance that I found the way to do damage to its final form. I mean, I literally ran out of ammo trying to figure out what to do several times. It was pissing me off to no end. But, I did figure it out, and watching that damn thing meet its end gave me a good sense of satisfaction.

I know exactly what you are talking about and I gave up trying to kill him after 3 hours of running around.:banghead:

At that time I had no internet connection either, so nothing to rely on either!
