  1. I saw the show last night and it exceeded my expectations. The performance itself was top notch. Shota Nakama did a great job directing, performing and entertaining the crowd. The atmosphere overall was great, and the crowd really got into it when those first few notes of those signature pieces started.

It was very cool to have the composers in the crowd as well to acknowledge all the fans. I can't wait to get the CD when it comes out in April. I know they didn't quite reach that $40k mark to hit to license all the music and have the complete recording of the concert, but perhaps they can somehow make that up by other means.

Thanks again for the heads up Level99, my girlfriend and I had a great time :)

  2. I'm up to 54 on my Outlander, and enjoying the Map World. I still haven't gone with New Game+ yet, perhaps in a day or two. I still haven't ventured into Veteran or Elite game modes, although I've been pretty much making my own "Elite" games by trying my best to clear level 85+ Dungeons on my 54 toon -_-. It's actually a pretty good way to get some good gear. As long as it's 1 or 2 base stat requirements that I'm specced for I can equip level 95+ requirement gear :o

  3. I'm definitely enjoying it so far with my lvl 22 Outlander. I guess I was one of the lucky ones that was able to login and play online right away. I didn't realize until a friend logged on about an hour afterwards that your single player character could jump right into internet games as well. I'm sure there would have been much more of an outcry if that wasn't the case.

Gambling seems to be a great way to get some nice gear. My friend gambled me 2 unique rings, belt, shoulders, and 2 weapons this morning :o

Even though I've only played it for a day, this game seems to have that "it" factor that Diablo 3 lacked. Plus it's a perfectly casual game that I can play at work and stop whenever I want which is always nice :>

  4. One fairly-recent title missing from that list is Time of Eve, a six-part ONA later compiled into a movie that added a few more scenes. It's a fantastic little look at a near-future setting with androids that can pass as humans, and contains a boat-load of references to Asimov and the Three Laws.

Oh nice, I wasn't aware that they added some scenes and made a movie out of it, I'll have to check it out again. The whole concept is very intriguing, and the cinematography and production were very high quality.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  5. Cold as hell is definitely in the forecast, but it will be a good time ;)

I actually own a Martini and Wine Bar named Meka's Lounge just a few blocks from RPI, and wanted to extend an invite to those people that will be in the area. Feel free to stop by, relax and have a good time if you're interested (and of age :P). We're located at 407 River St, Troy NY.

I don't want to infringe on partnerships or anything regarding OCRemix, but I was thinking of having drink specials for the OCR crew, perhaps playing some remixes through the jukebox, and maybe a vote for naming a remix themed drink. I'm sure I could have put together something a bit more organized, but I just found out about this today.

I guess I'll just pm djpretzel to go over the possibilities.

Btw, I'm not making this post in the interests of promotion for my business, but simply am looking to offer something to the OCR community :)

  6. I've had this remix in my playlist for a long time now, and it wasn't until recently that I actually took a good listen to it, and I must say I am highly impressed. The arrangement is very well done with mostly seamless transitions. The layering of instruments is also very good.

I think this remix has taught me that I should probably take the time to give a more thorough listen to other mixes that didn't immediately jump out at me the first couple of listens. There's a lot going on in this piece, and while it may not be the type of song that you might enjoy when your focus is on another task, when you give it your attention it really shines.

  7. Hiya OCRdians (OCRnites perhaps?). Anyhow, like many others posting in this introductory thread, I'm a long time listener / lurker / fan of the site, and I finally figured I would engage myself in this community a bit more, so here I am :P

My name is Scott, age 26, and I've been a gamer pretty much my entire life. I grew up playing Hunt The Wumpus on my Texas Instruments TI-99 at the age of 2, and have gone through pretty much every console since then. I have an affinity for Mega Man 2 remixes and egg salad.

I play guitar, albeit not at the level of the artists around here, but I do enjoy coming up with my own renditions of various video game songs in my spare time. I would like to develop my skills and perhaps look into remixing at some point in the future, however I suffer from acute symptoms of laziness. If I do ever get around to actually learning everything that I need to however, I hope to submit a Destiny of an Emperor montage, seeing as how the game has gotten no love it seems.

Anyhow, I guess that's all for now. Thanks :>
