  1. It's very good, but the parts that sound like FF battle themes just seem like the completely wrong mood for the level to me. Also, I hope the applause isn't on the final version.
  2. Sadorf, your WIP is actually the only one so far that I can't find a single problem with. I mean, it doesn't have an ending yet, but if you stuck one on and called it done, I'd put it in my normal playlist.
  3. I am officially attempting to remix Sky Sanctuary. I have a question for sithlord-aku, before I submit a work in progress, though: you said that if more than one person wants to do a track, there will be a vote for which version is the best. Will the vote be based on the WIPs, or on the completed versions? I'm assuming it will be based on the completed versions, but paranoia prevents me from officially submitting a WIP until I'm certain.
  4. You've got a good idea there to play with, but it feels a little nervewracking as compared to the original level. Kind of like the stuff that plays in action movies when everything is going to hell. I always felt that this level was the opposite. Knuckles just realized that he'd been tricked by Robotnik, and joined forces. And Robotnik hasn't destroyed this place yet. Except for Metal Sonic, none of the badniks are even there before you arrive. Long story short: the music always gave me a feeling of my goal finally being in sight.
  5. The links APC posted are to the wrong place, you have to be the person who uploaded the song in order to access those pages. The correct link are http://www.vgmix.com/song_view.php?song_id=3696
  6. I wouldn't consider it offering so much as begging, but anyway. I look forward to hearing your interpretation.
  7. If you want to work on sky sanctuary, I could use some help with mine...
  8. I went back and played through sonic 3 & knuckles the other day. I figured out why there's been all this controversy about whether or not Lava Reef and Hidden Palace are the same song: There is no "Act 2" song for Lava Reef. Instead, the Hidden Palace song plays during Lava Reef Act 2.
  9. The three songs have radically different styles. Two of them are the kind of songs you wouldn't want to listen to outside of the context of playing the game. Glowing Spheres is the exception.
  10. I agree with you on the Sonic 3 miniboss. Glowing Spheres, though, is kind of iffy. The music is good, but there are a whole bunch of tracks to do already, and where, exactly, would it go?
  11. It's been toned way down since the first WIP I posted. Maybe you have too much treble on your speaker settings.. I did notice that it had been toned down. But there's something about it that still makes me kind of want to cover my ears. May I humbly suggest changing the instrument to something just a little less jagged?
  12. Well its a recording of rain on a lake with birds chirping and such.. I can probably bring up the level on the rain a little bit. Glad people are liking it so far.. I think sith said he didn't want us posting WIP's after a certain time so I don't know how many more versions I'll be setting free on here. Probably at least one more after this one.. Great work so far. Again, my only complaint is that the lead instrument sounds jagged and screechy. In the fingernails on chalk-board sense.
  13. Thanks. I'll change it. PS: You accidentally posted twice. I have a new version that should sound better, let me know if it still has problems. http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1476060
  14. Well, the S3&K project has better source material. And (I think) a larger portion of experienced remixers.
  15. Thanks. I'll change it. PS: You accidentally posted twice.
  16. Did you listen to my remix with the fixed EQ? I could really use your comments on that.
  17. Let us know if there's any way we can help while you're sick.
  18. There is some horrible clipping going on there... Your EQ work isn't so great - are you maybe using a sub or something to mix this? maybe cheap headphones? There's wayyy too much volume on the kick drum, and it's killing the mix. The other volumes and frequencies are a little dodgy too... Other than that, though, It's a pretty cool mix.. Fix the EQ stuff, and i'll give more feedback after hearing it properly ^^ Fixed the EQ. I think. http://upthorn.mspencer.net/temp/fordownloading/SkySanctuaryWIPEQfix.mp3
  19. Okay. I need feedback on a possible collaborative submission between myself and APC. Song is here Direct comments, criticsm, and suggestions here
  20. It's the loop of the main theme. In your mix it starts at 0:25. In the original it would start as soon as you started the level. The second and sixth notes in your version are a bit too high to be on key. Maybe just by a half-step or so. Edit: Just to try and make sure I've made it clear, I'm adding another phrasing of the description: The first and second notes in the loop that comes in at 0:25, in all cases of the loop, are high, and slightly off key. Hmm, well just to test your theory, I raised the whole song by a half step (matching the GYM) and it seems to be the same. Perhaps you means out of tune, or it was the octave difference that made it sound different (the mix has that section playing an octave higher than the ost) Anyway, I think I like how the song sounds a half step up, I might leave it this way. I did lower the pitch slightly, and it sounds better now, so it was probably the tuning which needed....um tuning? Also, I lowered the guitar one octave in the main theme. Ok, rendering's done. Heres the New version And here's the Old version What do you think? Half step up or normal? The new version no longer sounds off key to me. Perfect.
  21. Your first version had fewer problems, and they were easier to fix. Why did you do this one while I was trying to polish the old version? ahhhh it's okay!! I have to versions so I still have the old one that I gave you so I'll work on that one harder and scrap the other one. Okay. For a while there I was worried you'd abandoned that version while I was working on it. That would have been upsetting.

  23. Your low tone in the main theme melody isn't quite low enough. (The second and sixth notes in the part that sounds vaguely like synth horns). Other than that, I love the direction you took this.

  25. I only have one problem. The synth the main part is rough and kind of hurts my ears. If you changed it to something softer, this would be perfect.
