The one thing I'd like to mention is that while composing I attempted to not simply create a song, but to create a story in that song. I made this using Finale Allegro. http://media.putfile.com/Draconic-Requiem (also, I'm not particularly knowledgeable regarding composing for an instrument, so I have no idea how "playable" this is by a real orchestra, I simply composed it by ear.)
