Sole Signal
My church is looking to get into streaming services live from our website. Has anyone done this or know what is involved? I have a few questions that would be easier talked out on AIM (mchawk19) - I'd really appreciate any help!
m68030
Streaming live is a pretty big deal. Would time-shifting to a streaming format be acceptable? We were uploading services at our church to Vimeo for quite some time: http://vimeo.com/sumterfcg It's nice quality, assuming your original videos were as such, and also allows downloading of the original file, if you so choose. Sole Signal
We'd probably do both, providing archives for download as well as live streaming. I did find this which answered a lot of my questions. It looks very doable.
m68030
Your biggest concern is going to be bandwidth. How many people do you expect to be viewing the live stream?
Sole Signal
I'd guess 50 or so from the outset. That site I linked to offers: - 200 simultaneous viewers - up to 320kbps broadcasting - no bandwidth limit for $59/month Seems like a reasonable price to me....?
