SoulinEther
In case you need some background, the Pre is Palm's new smartphone device running a new OS, webOS, which is built upon Linux. It was released about a week ago on the Sprint network in the states. Figger 1: said palm pre. source: engadget.com, possible press release, who knows. The code to enter the phone's developer mode has been made widely known and anyone with a computer is able to install a custom firmware onto the device, using the firmware Palm has released as a base for modifications. Since the firmware/OS is based on Linux, this means people can add existing linux software onto the device with relative ease.... FCEUltra NES Emulator on Pre So this is like the 6th day of the device's launch, and though no formal SDK has been released so far there's a strong homebrew scene for it already. Will this go the way of the PSP in its earliest days? Will the release of the SDK strengthen/break the homebrew crowd? Does news of being able to play classic games on it entice you? Discuss. Meteo Xavier
Discuss. DIE!!!!! Will this go the way of the PSP in its earliest days? Will the release of the SDK strengthen/break the homebrew crowd? Does news of being able to play classic games on it entice you? Those Palms never really looked that attractive to me, so I'm kinda lost on the Homebrew scene, but, and I hope its at least vaguely ontopic, I am really warming to those microlaptops that are out. Any word on if the emulators run good on those? I'd really love to find a cheap and easy way to emulate on the go-go-go. Without sitting in the same damn place alla time. SoulinEther
define: microlaptops. Are we talking netbooks (~8 inches), or smaller? Not attractive? Have you seen this thing? I better post a picture in the original post for the sake of eye candy and inspiration. The palm pre might be a viable option for you though. Just saying - trying to keep the topic ... on topic.
