Boom Bip -- Hyrule Symphony track sampled

Hey there,

Not sure if this has already been posted about, but I tried searching and couldn't find it.

Boom Bip, a professional musical artist, mixed a section from the old Hyrule Symphonic album into a song called "Roads Must Roll." The part he sampled is from the track found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQhmlgINEZI and happens around the 1:48 mark. (It's the title screen of Zelda II)

The track is excellent. The album is called "Seed to Sun." You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UojuA7v2bio This track came out 7 years ago, in 2002!

Pretty awesome, eh?

I'm sure there's other artists out there that are making money off of mixing video game or related music into their own music. Feel free to post your own!

I remember hearing this randomly following someone on a video stream and wondering what it was and why they randomly sampled the Zelda 2 theme. Thanks for finding out what it was from and what the song is called.

This is actually really cool, I always liked Hyrule Symphony, I can only imagine how weirded out I would have been if I'd stumbled upon this randomly and heard the sample. Wonder how long it would have taken me to put two and two together...
