activeknowledge
Hey there, Just looking to get some feedback on this cover of Poker Face by Lady Gaga. The drums are just 909 samples in Ableton 8, while everything else is coming out of the Nintendo Entertainment System. I had a lot of fun doing this! http://listen.activeknowledgemusic.com/track/poker-face-2 Anything you specifically like/dislike will help out, this is the first time I've had difficulty telling myself that I suck. Cheers, -Chris
zircon
It's pretty cool, but a lot of the notes and chords are wrong (not the same as the original song.) It's more of a loose interpretation than a cover, not that interpretations are bad Also, the drums aren't 909 drums but rather sound like a basic acoustic kit. You might try actual 909 samples or possibly NES drums.
activeknowledge
Thanks.. I pulled a supposed 909 sample set off of the Free Sound Project, but it sounds like some of the files are just copies that are pitch-shifted higher. At any rate, I'll compare it against the actual version and see if I notice anything that wasn't intentional (like the freq sweep on the part after the chorus, for instance). NES drums might be a necessity for when it's coming back from the last bridge part, so thanks for the suggestion.
